Has this ever happened to you? 🔑 Remembering your password is a win, but let's make sure we're doing everything possible to keep accounts safe and secure. 🔐 Here are three tips to keep your accounts secure ⬇ 🖥 Use Complex Passphrases: Create a passphrase with a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols. For example, “SunnyDay@27$Adventure” is harder to guess. 🖥 Turn On Two-Factor Authentication: Add extra security by using a second verification method, like a text message or an authentication app. 🖥 Change Passwords Often: Regularly update your passwords and don’t use the same one for different sites. Make sure to write these passwords down in a secure and memorable place as well. Drop your own password security tips in the comments below! #cybersecurity #digitialprotection #passwordsecurity

Passwords are important to help your accounts stay private and secure 🔒 We are all guilty of reusing the same password more than once and using weak passwords in an attempt to remember them. But this unfortunately can leave us vulnerable to hackers. We know using strong passwords can be a pain, so here are some measures to both ease the burden of remembering them all AND make you more secure: 👉 Use a password manager. Password managers are secure vaults full of all of your passwords. They allow you to log into your accounts automatically without having to find/remember your passwords. They help increase your password security and eliminate password-related stress. 👉 Use two-factor authentication. Most apps offer this facility these days. All you need to do is turn it on. This is also a good solution as the pain is taken away from having to remember a bonkers password as your security is supplemented by an SMS, or security code from an authenticator app. #CyberSecurity #PasswordSecurity #SecurityTips

Here are some expert tips to help you fortify your virtual fortress: 📏 The longer your password, the harder it is for hackers to guess. Aim for a minimum of 12 characters to ensure maximum security. 🚫 Stay away from using your name, birthdate, or other easy-to-guess details. Hackers can find this information, making your account vulnerable. 🌻 Consider using a passphrase instead of a single word. Combine unrelated words to create a memorable yet unpredictable password. For example, "SunflowerPianoRainbow" is much stronger than "sunflower123." 🗝️ If you struggle to remember multiple complex passwords, try using a password manager app. It securely stores all your passwords, making it easier to maintain strong and unique ones for each account. #Oppuous #FridayFortress #Cybersecurity #PasswordProtection #StaySafeOnline #DigitalFortress #OnlineSecurityTips

The Power of Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Imagine this: You’re logging into your email, and suddenly, you notice login attempts from an unknown location. 😨 This happened to a friend recently. Thankfully, they had two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, which stopped the hacker in their tracks. 2FA is like adding a second lock to your door – even if someone has your key (password), they still can’t get in without the code from your phone. If you haven’t set it up yet, now’s the time! 💪 👉 Who here uses 2FA? Share your experience in the comments! #Cybersecurity #DigitalSafety #TechTips

🔒 Keep your accounts safe and secure with these tips for password security! 🔒 1️⃣ Create strong passwords with a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters. Avoid using easily guessable information like your birthday or pet's name. 2️⃣ Use unique passwords for each of your accounts. This way, if one account is compromised, the others will still be safe. 3️⃣ Consider using a password manager to securely store and generate complex passwords for all your accounts. 4️⃣ Enable two-factor authentication whenever possible for an extra layer of security. This typically involves receiving a code on your phone in addition to entering your password. 5️⃣ Regularly update your passwords and change them every few months to reduce the risk of being hacked. Here are 5 things we’d NEVER do! 1. Reuse passwords or use one-word passwords. If you do this, you are asking for trouble. They are so easy to crack, you don’t stand a chance. 2. Use public WiFi. You might as well just write your login information on a Post-it note and hand it over to the hackers. 3. Click links in e-mails. If your bank e-mails you, just go log in. If there is a promotion for a store, just go to that store’s website and search for it. 4. Skip two-factor or multi-factor authentication. It’s an extra step that can be the difference between someone getting into your account or not. 5. Save passwords to my Google account. If someone hacks your Google account, they have your passwords for everything. It’s easy, but easy is dangerous, so use a secure password manager. Quick Tip - It’s Not If, It’s When “Who are you *really*?” Multifactor authentication (MFA), also known as two-factor authentication (2FA), requires verifying your identity in two ways to access an account. For example, with MFA on Gmail, you enter your password and then a six-digit code from an app or device. Only then do you have access to your account. You must enter both password and 2FA code each time you access the account. If someone steals your password, they still can’t access your Gmail account. If you’re not using MFA for sensitive accounts, consider setting it up—it only takes a few extra seconds and is worth it for the added security. #cybersecurity #technology #safety #quicktip #hdtech
