As a founder, you are always praying your early stage demo works. Yesterday, i got an assist from the Catholic Sisters of Kenya, Uganda and Zambia. Maternal/child health is a critical challenge for much of Africa. While there are many financial, logistical and supply chain challenges we think there is a large role for AI technology to play in helping train and educate health professionals, community health workers and mothers. The reasons are threefold. 1. The AI can be trained and built on WHO training materials and given guardrails. 2. It can augment existing training, do follow up checks and help in communities where no regular training exists. All you need is a phone and a data bundle. 3. It will eventually be able to do train in multiple languages. From our research with community health workers this aspect is crucial.
