Your client is overwhelmed with tasks and doesn’t know where to begin. Which tool would you advise your client to use? It is vital to prioritize tasks to determine which ones are most important and need to be addressed first. Using a Gantt chart can help identify the critical path. A Gantt chart provides a detailed project timeline, allowing your client to see the relationships between tasks and their deadlines. The critical path highlights the key tasks that must be completed on schedule to ensure the project stays on track, enabling your client to prioritize effectively.

How to prioritize the right upgrades to a business: 1. Where are our bottlenecks? 2. How impactful are potential improvements to each? 3. How much do those improvements cost (in budget AND time)? 4. What is the Confidence Interval for executing on each of those improvements? 5. Pick the improvement that optimizes for cost and confidence-adjusted impact. The framework is simple, but sometimes the magic is in the discipline of running the exercise. If you can put some guardrails in place to remove bias from the process, now you're cooking. I have a simple Google Sheet template that guides inputs for the 5 step process above and spits out a project prioritization map visually. Comment "template" and I'll shoot it your way!

Tracking your project is very important. When you have a project to work on, use proper tools like gantt chart, roadmap, burndown chart to track the progress of milestones in your chart. Of course, these tools will work best in different projects with different goals.
