🌟 Excited to share the completion of my internship at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur! 🌟 Under the invaluable guidance of Dr. Soumen Sen, Chief Scientist of the Human Centred Robotics and Cybernetics Group, I had the opportunity to dive deep into advanced robotics and control systems. During this internship, I worked on an intriguing project titled, "A Study of Impedance / Admittance Control for Robot Operation: DC Motor Driven 1-DOF Robot Joint and a Planar 2-DOF Manipulandum." Key highlights: 🔹 Proposed a novel method to determine the end-effector position of a 2-DOF planar manipulandum through a geometrical approach. 🔹 Designed detailed motor models using Simulink for enhanced control and precision. This experience has significantly enriched my understanding of robotics and control systems, and I am grateful for the learning and mentorship I received. Duration: 28th June, 2024 to 31st July, 2024 Looking forward to applying these skills and knowledge in future projects! #Robotics #Internship #ProfessionalDevelopment #CSIRCMERI #Engineering #Innovation #Simulink #ControlSystems #CareerGrowth

Internship Insightfuls Day 10: We wrote our code and tested it out on the robot. Theoretically, it was supposed to go in a straight line, but for some reason, it was always tilting toward one side as we started it. We looked in the code to find the error lurking and eventually gave up. A while later, our sir came, looked at the robot, and suggested that it might be some mechanical problem. It was indeed a mechanical problem! The coupling attaching the motor shaft to the wheel was loose, causing the wheel to slip on the floor and not move properly. Our robot worked, but some weird values came in the encoder data. Lesson learned: Sometimes, even if you do everything right, some small error might be hidden somewhere, ruining everything.
