“First, I perceive an abstract energy field, and then I find myself shaping it.” A unique creator and capacious thinker with a background in visual arts and architectural design, #MelekZeynepBulut, founder of melekzeynepstudio has been exploring the interplay between mind and matter “for as long as I can remember”. To round up the 2024 edition of LDF, an equally audacious and ambitious new work, Duo, is situated in the Painted Hall at Greenwich’s Old Royal Naval College. Conceptually inspired by notions of duality and oppositional forces – centre and periphery, inside and outside, night and day, time and space, or simply, two people in conversation. The intensity, balance, and oscillation that occurs through the space and its parts depend on the contact with whoever enters it. Bulut sees it as a “game of perception” that turns visitors into active participants – or, as she puts it, “game-changers”. 'Duo' now showing in the Painted Hall at Old Royal Navy College until 3rd November. Tickets required. Book at the link https://lnkd.in/egKzqn4j *** TICKET INFO *** LDF is offering 10% off tickets booked online using the promo code: LDFDUO24 Valid until Saturday 02 November. Visitors on Sunday 03 November can benefit from the Painted Hall's First Sunday offer with entry for only £5. Under 16's go free but booking is required. Please go to the Old Royal Naval College box office to redeem your wristband and gain access to the Painted Hall. 📸 IAMJACK #LDF24 #MelekZeynepBulut #Duo

Not all sports require absolute uniformity in their playing fields. The lines describes follow the structure of the field of play that is anchored by the fixed positions of the FOP , and by the strike zone. Geometric patterns can also be found in sports with less prescriptive settings. The task of the architect is therefore to create, if he can, this atmosphere of interest, to invent secrets that lie beneath the surface … And with this concealment of the obvious there should be a feeling in all artificial construction for beauty of line and contour.

Josh Kline’s Climate Change is both an exhibition and a total work of art—an ambitious, immersive suite of science-fiction installations that imagines a future sculpted by ruinous climate crisis and the ordinary people destined to inhabit it. Begun in 2018 and produced in sections over the last five years, Kline’s eponymous project was brought together for the first time for this exhibition. It mobilizes sculpture, moving image work, photography, and ephemeral materials to completely transform the galleries of MOCA | The Museum of Contemporary Art Grand Avenue. In this vision, which could be called dystopian but is, in truth, terrifyingly near, a catastrophic sea-level rise has inundated the world’s coasts, unleashing a flood of hundreds of millions traumatized refugees. What happens in a world where the systems built to sustain and extend capitalist enterprise and global hegemony melt down their own foundations? Kline opens the door to such a future, inviting us to place ourselves within it and consider the rear view. https://lnkd.in/eWMp9G5V

EXPRESSION OF OPENINGS (JUNE2014 Gautam Shah) https://lnkd.in/fd8NBSx Openings frame a view. The framed view is available so far one is little away on either of the sides, but same frame gets dissolved when one reaches the threshold. The frame enshrines an arresting or picturesque quality. These staging qualities are used in art, architecture and performing arts settings. The framing provides a scale reference, but the third dimension of depth, remains ambiguous due to the foreshortening.
