Music artists over complicate music sync. Listen, if you’re a musician trying to get into sync it may take time but long term consistency is key: Avoid: Not listening or following instructions (this is a big pitfall for many.) Not marketing yourself lessens yourself to be seen. Not having agreements and split sheets with co-writes in place. Instead: Make connections and be friends with sync people. You don't hear anything after a follow up..move on! Be a one-stop-shop. You never know what opportunity will come your way Focus on this for the first year. Build from there. #musicians #musicbusiness #musicindustry #musicsync

Five years ago Mark Mulligan made a defining prediction that fandom would drive the future of the music industry. In this landmark keynote Mark and Tatiana Cirisano playfully lay out how two parallel music universes are emerging, one for lean back listening, and another, which is just getting going, for musical interactions, a new form of fandom in which fans speed up, slow down, remix, repurpose, and make from scratch music themselves. If you’re still wrapping your head around the great bifurcation debate, start here.

The Power of Music: Connecting Hearts on Stage When you perform on stage, it’s more than just singing—it’s about creating a bond with the people around you. Music has the incredible ability to shift emotions, divert minds, and transform energies. But for it to truly resonate, there are a few key elements that come into play. Your voice needs to do more than just reach the ears of the audience; it should find its way to their hearts. The performance must grab their attention and spark a connection, allowing them to feel every note and lyric deeply. Music, in its essence, is a universal language with immense power. It heals, it inspires, and it unites. As performers, it’s our responsibility to tap into this power and share it authentically with the world. Let’s take a moment to explore and embrace the true potential of music—not just as entertainment, but as a force that brings people together and touches souls. #MusicHealing #PowerOfMusic #StagePerformance #ConnectingThroughMusic

Industry research firm Luminate’s annual report is out, and the biggest of its many big figures is 4.8tn (trillion). That’s how many on-demand audio music streams there were in 2024 according to its calculations – a year-on-year rise of 14%. The US accounted for 1.4tn of those (29.2%). However, the 6.4% growth in the US was outstripped by the 17.3% spike in the rest of the world. Read More: https://lnkd.in/dFHZz_m4 #musically #musicnews #luminate #readmore

This might be controversial, or you don’t want to hear it, but think about this one. Are you overlooking opportunities because you were taught, or think, that you MUST perform hard music to make a living? Rarely are the equivalent of “gold stars” given for performing hard music in the real world, and most audiences actually want to hear the stuff that’s easy to both listen to, and sing. It took me time to come to terms with it myself, but it’s definitely something to think about. #themarketablemusician #performers #worksmart #easymusic #hardmusic #marketabilityformusicians

My #1 tip for when pitching to a music supervisor, a sync agent or project for sync: Make sure you send music that matches the criteria of the music supervisor or brief is asking for. In the sync world there is a lot of music being passed around. However, to cut through the noise it is important to supply the type of music that is being asked for. It takes time to go through emails. It takes time to listen to music. Thus, if a music supervisor is working with a quick deadline it makes it harder when you send music that is not relevant to the project. You don't want to be that person. You want to be the musician who is reliable and can be counted on. These small details matter. #musicsupervision #musicsupervisor #musicindustry #musicians
