Love is the Force Multiplier! That’s the meaning of the symbol on my t-shirt. Here’s what else it means and why it matters so much.   Last month, Thomas (Tom) Dahlborg 🙏🏼 ❤️ 🙏🏼 wrote a beautiful post about love as a force multiplier. He wrote about it in the context of what’s missing in healthcare, but it also applies to what’s so desperately needed in the world we live in today.   Tom wrote about the many tools, tactics, frameworks, approaches, strategies, and more at play throughout healthcare designed to improve outcomes and achieve some or all of the various aspects of the Quintuple Aim.   He lamented that in spite of all those efforts, we’re falling short on those worthy, important aspirations.   He also wrote more that affected me deeply and stuck with me:   “With all the good in play to achieve betterment, what is the key missing ingredient?   The answer … Love.   Love for Love's Sake.   Love is foundational for success of well thought out, evidence-based tools, tactics, frameworks, approaches, strategies, designed to achieve betterment.   When we reconnect with our hearts, when we learn to love self and others again (agape love), we will climb any and all mountains regardless of any barriers, regardless of the financial model.   Love is the Force Multiplier we are missing in healthcare.”   In his post, he included the symbol that you see on my t-shirt.   That symbol was compelling and also a bit mysterious (if you weren’t a math or physics major). It kind of blew my mind.   When Tom recently decided to make this symbol shareable on various forms of apparel and merchandise, I was among the first in line to buy. My shirt arrived a few days ago, and I wore it when I took my three fur babies to the local area dog park yesterday.   Three different people stopped me to ask me what the symbol meant! And I got to have three different conversations to explain what it means to have love as the force multiplier in your life. (I was at the dog park longer than usual as a result. It was also the best experience I’ve ever had there.)   I think this message needs sunlight and lots of it. It starts conversations – meaningful ones.   If you’re interested in spreading this message and initiating some really transformative and profound conversations, you should check out the link in the comments and visit the website for Dahlborg HealthCARING Leadership Group, LLC (DHLG) and pick up a shirt, a hat, a coffee mug. Anything to put this message out in the world. Love isn’t just “a” Force Multiplier -- it’s THE Force Multiplier that’s at our fingertips every day to transform healthcare…and the world. We just need to reach out and touch it.   #love #healthcare #LoveIsTheForceMultiplier #spreadthemessage

Lonnie....thanks for posting this positive, much needed message. We also need more kindness in this world. Life has always been harsh since our species walked this Earth, but we have a different type of harshness now. We exchanged fighting the elements and wild animals to fighting the modern problems....substance abuse and digital media addiction, sedentary lifestyle, narcissism, selfishness, arrogance, short sightedness, rage, and others. In some ways I feel we have forgotten how to live and we are undervaluing life and the meaning of it. We are not respecting life to the extent that we should and there is a general lack of respect between people, not all, but many and on many levels. This is why we must introduce kindness. Just try to do one act of kindness per day. You will be surprised not only how happy it will make someone, but how good you will feel. Take a moment in your day to be kind. It's really not that difficult, it just takes some goodwill. Kindness is better than anger, by far. Anger will poison your heart. It is toxic. It will lead to bad judgement and decision making - guaranteed. If you find yourself getting angry, ask yourself, are you to blame? Don't allow anger to win you over. It's a mental choice.

I love this! I got my t-shirt this week too and I can't wait to wear it. Lonnie, this post opened my eyes to something I hadn't thought of. When we wear our Love as a Force Multiplier shirts we have the opportunity to spread the word with those who inquire about the shirt. With that in mind, I might have to order another one in a different color 💙 🖤 ❤️

Love it, Lonnie! It's said everything is made of love, light, consciousness. Fear is love forgotten. Darkness is light in shadows. Problems are consciousness living the myth of separation. Having said all this, I believe the most loving thing we could do for staff, patients, and communities, is to fix the care delivery systems before we are unable to deliver any care at all.

Look at that Lonnie Hirsch guy....he could be a male model.....I think he needs to be paid a commission Thomas (Tom) Dahlborg 🙏🏼 ❤️ 🙏🏼 for making the tee shirt look so good. You can even tell that the setting he chose was to accent and complement the shirt....marketing, marketing, marketing.
