Come and celebrate the abundant beauty of #summer this August for the first in a series of seasonal workshops at Everybody Arts in #Halifax Embark on a journey through the year with our series of botanical workshops, designed to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the changing seasons. We have seasons in our lives too and by connecting more to natures rhythms we can support ourselves better. These workshops provide an opportunity to feel grounded and to connect with nature, fostering a sense of ease and appreciation for the natural world and the opportunity to reflect on what each season means to you. Each half day workshop is a place of creativity and calm contemplation as we take time to appreciate the beauty of flowers and natural botanicals that each season gifts us. Enjoy the chance to escape the noise, to slow down and observe. To think about what each season symbolises through shared poetry, reflective questions and compassionate conversation inspired by beautiful flowers, foliage and other natural elements. There is a focus on creativity with no expectation to make something in a certain way or stick to a formula, the session is all about finding the beauty in the everyday and appreciating how working alongside nature makes us feel, how it can connect us, enable perspective and provide a moment of calm and solace. The sessions will be facilitated by Dr Alison Smith through a Thinking Environment framework, inspired by Nancy Kline's Time to Think® philosophy. This ensures a gathering where everyone can think independently and creatively in a respectful and easeful way enabling us to fully appreciate the season's beauty and harness the opportunities it presents. Starting out in floristry or looking to rejuvenate your existing flower shop? The key is to intertwine your passion with the pulse of the community. Building a flower shop isn't just about business transactions; it's about cultivating a space where customers feel part of a story—your story. When you align your brand with the values and spirit of your community, you lay the foundation for a flourishing client base. Engage with your local audience, share insights into your sustainable sourcing, or the inspiration behind your designs. Each interaction plants a seed for loyalty and growth. Remember, in the world of floristry, community connection is the fertile soil from which success grows.

HOW TO STOP HATING YOUR HOUSE P. 1; How To Stop Hating Your House P.1 ✨ Refresh ✨ AKA. CLEAN IT. Nobody likes clutter or garbage but it happens to the best of us. When I let these things pile up in my house I find myself instantly dissatisfied with what I have. Enough is never enough and I long more for a Pinterest image than the plenty big house I’ve been blessed with. That is dumb! If you do this too- you’re not alone but you also don’t have to continue in that thought process, it doesn’t lead anywhere nice and fluffy, trust me. Hence this video. I think I’ll make this a series called How to Not Hate Your House. The steps I took in this video were as follows (and made Tim say “WOAH!” when he opened the door) 👍 1. Declutter surfaces (throw away garbage, put away things that have another home, donate the things you don’t want). 2. Declutter the Floor. (Same steps as above). 3. Consider practicality (what do you need the space to do for you? Is it serving that purpose?) 4. Shop Your House to refresh first. (You likely have decor or baskets or bins or vases sitting around. Grab one and move it to the space you’re working on. Hate it? Put it back. 5. Thrift your needs ( I needed a cheap way to cover this hideous floor. For $10- I found this actually pretty nice rug and bam. Problem temporarily solved for now). What room in your house could use a refresh? https://lnkd.in/g8zdqmxj

Take a chance Quick story I would like to share. I looked up a local garden center to buy my mother some flowers for her recent birthday. I thought this would be a thoughtful gift because she loves flowers 🤗 As I walk through the garden, I think to myself, There are so many beautiful flowers; it's hard to choose. So I relied on the professionals to guide me, and by the way, the service was excellent. As I was making my purchase, I wondered: How is this business creating awareness for itself? Of course, right after, all the negative thoughts began to race through my head. Don't do it. They are busy. They are not interested. This is inappropriate. They won't listen to you. But what if.... In this case, I ran with the "what if" question. I asked the employee if they thought the owner would appreciate a digital scan of this location. The employee's face lit up, and I took that as a good sign, and I was right. The owner of the garden center loved the idea! They have been discussing it for a while. Right place, Right Time, Right Action Amidst all the negative thoughts, try to find the what-if and lean into it. Take a chance. I bought lovely flowers, made my mother smile, and closed a deal 😎 😊 Great way to enter this weekend. #chance #digitalmarketing #story #takeaction
