I DID IT, FOLKS! I DID IT FOR CANADA!! 🍁🍁🍁🥞❄️🍁🍁🍁 It's official... It's not just a fun tagline... No longer a distant goal... I... am... THE FASTEST MAN IN CANADA!! (**Fastest Canadian Parkour Athlete**) All the waiting, the training, the hype, the driving, the van building, the stress, the success, the failures, just to get to Vancouver in time for the worlds largest parkour competition: Sport Parkour League Qualifiers all over the world gathered by the dozens to compete in front of the world stage! In my category, Speed, there were 4 opportunities to qualify for this mega competition: - A Montreal Qualifying Competition (In which I came second) - A Texas Qualifying Competition - A European Qualifying Competition; and - An ON-SITE Qualifying Competition in Vancouver From each qualifying round, only 3 were chosen. So I competed against 11 of the fastest dudes ON THE PLANET... and so, when it came to compete in the first round... I nailed it! My prelim run went quite well, and that's what you'll see in the video below 😁 Then I moved on to the Semi-Finals... And my run went perfectly 😍 (Haven't got the video yet from the Pay-Per-View) And overall, I'm ecstatic about my performance! Didn't get hurt. Didn't mess up (much). Had fun. Met my heroes. -IMPORTANT UPDATE ON TENDER USE PROTOCOL DURING AMERICA'S CUP IN BARCELONA- Please note that the Capitania (Maritime Authority) for #Barcelona Port waters will be amending the usual protocol regarding use of tenders during the America´s Cup period.    Starting 22nd August, instead of requesting authorization for each outing or operation of your tender (all vessels registered as ¨tender-to¨), the Port Captain requires a general declaration signed by the main vessel captain with a minimum of 5 days notice prior to the start of activity. This should be accompanied by details of the tenders that will be used to carry passengers for the purpose of watching the scheduled events on the race course. This general declaration accepts the temporary rules and requirements in place and only needs to be submitted once for validation throughout the duration of the event period. This model enhances the effectiveness, efficiency, and long-term sustainability of clubs. Although some clubs may initially be apprehensive about moving away from the traditional model, councils and funders generally favor the collaborative approach, which offers reduced costs and increased agility for clubs. The members of WRI have overwhelmingly voted in favor of the recommendations from the multisport hub building feasibility study. This decision paves the way for the commencement of funding discussions and brings us one step closer to realizing this innovative and sustainable model. Sports + Climate Change + Climate Disasters = Real Impact The upcoming PGA Genesis Invitational tour event was scheduled be to held at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles. Due to the destructive wildfires near Pacific Palisades, the event will be moved to a new location. Some people roll their eyes and mutter to themselves that a golf event moving isn't a big deal. But, there is a major impact on the local economy, from lost hotel room nights, less restaurant patronage, event staff missing work, and uber drivers missing fares. Sporting events bring significant economic activity to local economies. Climate Change will continue to impact professional sports and their local economies.
