Partnering and Consulting! My week had it all! Hello and welcome to another Mateen Week In Review! You may be aware that I love doing different things and having various responsibilities and my week this week depicted that perfectly! So, what did I get up to? 🤔 🤝 I had the pleasure of having a chat with Alex Yuan. We discussed AI playing a role in reducing consultation time. We all know 10-minute appointments aren't enough for doctors, and for patients- the question is, is there scope for AI to help? 🤝 I also had the pleasure of speaking to Amish Ralhan - we discussed plans in the med tech industry, something I’m deeply passionate about. It was great to hear how his personal story played a huge part in dedicating him to build a start-up, and how he has shaped himself using his interest in Med Tech. 🏥 And for my GP partner duties; I conducted a review of accounts for the year 23-24. I am glad (and relieved) that they look very healthy! ✍ I also reviewed patient survey results. I’m very proud that we have excellent reviews, check out my last posts to get an in-depth view! It is a common misconception that you can not balance the books with patient care, but ElmTree proves that you can have the best of both worlds! 🦫🏥 Does this sound like Groundhog Day to you? 👩🏽 Receptionist: Good morning, how are you feeling today? 👨 Patient: Oh, you know, just like every other Groundhog Day. I thought it might be fun after seeing some of the responses from yesterday to do a bit of a day by day follow through for people to see how the test of the #doorbell check in is going in the office. Here are the updates: - Tuesday is our half day in the afternoon and every other week I will work after hours so we had 16 people use the check in system - two patients came in before noon when we were not physically present and we were able to triage those concerns instead of having them speak with other offices and disrupt their operations - doorbell delegation continues to work well with our nurse triaging all calls in While we are exploring the doorbell concept we are also looking to improve our #onlinebooking experience. Since starting in late 2022 we've booked about 384 appointments online. We always protected the schedule and limited availability as patients would often book up to 6 weeks in advance if we open the schedule. As of last week we've shifted to online appointments only available 2 days ahead and a physician triage where I contact patients calling in looking for appointments or I am calling patients who have appointments booked to see if we can manage things over the phone. The result - of 6 open slots tonight for online appointments only 1 was used and despite 10 patients booking online appointments this week only 3 are needed as in person. #innovation when done right unlocks more innovation and potentiates more rapid change. #doorbell open the door to improved #onlinebooking and more #physiciantriage. - In no other job in healthcare do physicians have this much autonomy to directly impact the ecosystem they work in! #familymedicine
