Table tennis at the highest level can be considered an "infinite game" for several reasons: - No specific end point: In table tennis, the goal is not only to win a specific match but also to continuously improve, develop skills, and maintain competitiveness at the highest level. - No time limit: While each match has a specific duration, a table tennis athlete's career is not limited by a certain time frame. They can continue to play and compete for many years. - Continuous development: Table tennis requires constant development in technique, tactics, and physicality. Athletes are always looking to push their limits and those of their opponents. - Continuity and no stopping point: Table tennis players do not just play to win each match but also to maintain and develop the game. They do not stop after each failure but continue striving for higher achievements. These factors make table tennis not just a sport but also an infinite game, where the goal is not only to win but also to progress and develop endlessly.

Revisted this article on Tennis Channel about how Pickleball can improve certain aspects of ones tennis game, and even serve as a filter. Tennis is very technical and can be frustrating to learn, whereas Pickleball is generally easier, and fun to learn. I think that Pickleball can serve as a great intro to Racquet Sports, particularly for young people. The ability to self-reflect, evaluate and constantly strive to improve. I was closely following tennis tournaments for last 2 years. Jannik Sinner was in top ten but last year he significantly improved and played almost at perfection level. This allowed him to win Australian Open and several ATP tournaments. He just became number one ranked player at Rolland Garros, but faced Carlos Alcaraz. If you don't know Alcaraz, you should watch it. He just won Roland Garos (3d Grand Slam at the age of 21 - nobody did this before at such age). Tough and very intense 5 sets between the two top players for over 4 hours of playing. Unbelievable level of tennis. Sinner lost and then reflected a bit after post-match press conference: Despite the disappointment of the loss, Sinner demonstrates an ability to objectively evaluate his performance, acknowledge areas for improvement, and maintain a positive outlook for the future. Sinner recognizes the crucial moments that decided the match, stating, "The sets he won, he played better the important points. I think that was the key." This honest assessment shows his understanding of the fine margins that separate victory and defeat at the highest level of the sport. Rather than dwelling on the negative aspects of the loss, Sinner chooses to focus on the progress he has made and the opportunities that lie ahead. He remarks, "If you watch the positive side, I have improved from last year for sure, and yeah, there's another chance to play here for the Olympics, and then we'll see how it goes." This forward-looking mentality is essential for any top athlete striving to consistently improve and compete at the highest level. These guys are their early 20s. They are forced by conditions to mature at so young age. They learned how to turn-off emotions and keep perfecting their mental and physical game.

🎾🏓 Is tennis facing an unexpected rival? The rise of pickleball has caught the attention of tennis officials. Participation in the paddle sport has been booming by 223% in just three years! Pickleball now boasts 13.6 million U.S. players, closing in on tennis' 23.8 million. The USTA is responding with "red ball tennis" programs to make tennis more accessible. Red ball tennis is an easier-to-play version that uses a larger, low-compression ball on a smaller court. It is designed to make the sport more accessible to beginners of all ages. Both sports have their merits, with pickleball offering quick enjoyment and tennis providing a rich, nuanced experience. What's your take? Are you team tennis, team pickleball, or do you think there's room for both on the court? 🤔 #SportsEvolution #TennisVsPickleball #RecreationalTrends https://lnkd.in/gDtCE7tG

Here's what happens when you and your friends are bored on a Sunday afternoon. We recently came up with a cool twist on Table Tennis by combining two tables to make one long one—and it totally changes the game! 🏓 📝We stick to the usual rules but with a few simple changes: - The serve has to land directly on the other side, unlike regular table tennis where the service bounces on each court. For doubles, the serve must go diagonally. - The ball can’t bounce twice on the other side, this discourages sneaky drop shots on a long table. - If you lose a point while serving, the opponent serves. You don't get to serve twice or five times like regular table tennis. In doubles, the score decides who serves next (even = right, odd = left). 💨The longer table makes it faster and more intense, with bigger swings and some crazy shots. It’s super easy to pick up even if you’re new to the game, and we’ve been having a lot of fun! Got any fun ideas for new rules? I’d love to hear them!
