LTE-group is proud to support Special Olympics Austria 🏀🎳🎾 Almost “traditionally” at this time of the year Andreas Mandl, CEO of LTE logistics & transport, confirmed LTE’s continued support for Special Olympics Austria for another year. The athletes’ oath "I want to win, but if I can't win, I want to be brave in the attempt" is put into practice almost every day. Special Olympics Austria promote and support around 200 training events and over 150 smaller and larger competitions. This year, for example, Austria’s national Winter Games in Styria 👉 https://lnkd.in/dkt3S3N3 👈 were one of the sportive highlights and are still a topic of conversation in the sports-loving community. Next year's highlight, the World Games in Turin, is already at the doorstep. Some years ago Andreas Mandl became aware of the activities and growing importance of the Special Olympics and decided to walk the path together so to speak. "What applies to both of us as institutions is: speed, precision and team spirit. We both fulfill these requirements with enthusiasm," he says, "and that's why we simply fit together well, and that's not going to change any time soon." #LTEgroup #teamspirit #specialolympics #attractiveforces

IT’S NOT HOW FAST! For the 24th year in a row, the US men have failed to deliver a medal of any colour in the 4x100 meter relay in the Olympics! Now we know that this is not due to lack of speed. These athletes are the best the world has to offer and are individually accomplished in their own right. In the just concluded Olympics in Paris, we watched with bated breadth hoping that this talented team would break the jinx and finally deliver a gold medal for the US. That was not to be as the botched handoff between Christian Coleman and Kenny Bednarek caused the team to finish 7th then be disqualified for handing the baton outside the zone. As mentioned, the failures of the team to deliver a medal are not due to lack of speed, these men are incredibly fast! Instead, the failures have been due to timing, handoffs, and getting the right people in the right spots of the relay. The US has also relied for too long in the idea that because they are fast, they will automatically win the race while other countries have taken the time to establish a four-person team that work together in the years between Olympics to establish cohesion and chemistry so that everyone is connected and can deliver when they need to. A case in point is the Canadian Team that won the race. As witnessed with the American team, the handoffs are everything and will make or break the race. You can have the fastest men on the relay team but if you are unable to pass the baton, the race is over. Your team can be individually great, and can bring their A-Game to work, but if they are unable to collaborate, work as a team and build cohesion, their individual efforts will come to nothing, and the entire team will fail to deliver on its mandate. Its not how fast, it’s how efficiently and effectively a team can deliver as a unit. #teamcohesion #teamsynergies #ParisOlympics #teamUSA

The Irish Times may want to consider what the chart on Ireland's position in the Olympic Medals Table is actually communicating. https://lnkd.in/eHsQ4qVT While caveated with "Lower numbers are better" most people will probably not read this and go straight for the pretty picture where the chart appears to show a poor performance from the Irish team at Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024 and other recent Olympics. In this case a lower number is a positive as it relates to their medal table rank where Ireland have performed much better than in previous Olympics. Therefore surely flipping to the chart so the lower numbers are at the top would be a much better visualisation and indicate the positive performance the team had compared to previous Olympics.

Japan prohibits Russian bodybuilders to compete in world championship under national flag It will take place in Tokyo between December 16 and 19 MOSCOW, November 11/ The organizational committee of the women’s bodybuilding championship, which will take place in Tokyo between December 16 and 19, decided to authorize Russian athletes to compete only in neutral status under the pressure from Japanese authorities, the Russian Bodybuilding Federation told TASS. "Under the pressure of the Japanese government, the organizational committee of the women’s world championship was forced to make a decision that the Russian national team would be able to compete only in the neutral status, that is, without the flag and the anthem, due to concerns of security in Japan," the federation representative told TASS. "This decision was made at the very last moment, when the Russian national team had already been formed to take part in the world championship. We received the official letter from the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) citing the Japanese organizational committee only on November 10." In mid-July, the IFBB executive committee decided to authorize Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in world and Europe championships under national flags and anthems. Before July 2024, Russian athletes could compete under the national flag in all international competitions except for world and Europe competitions, where they were supposed to compete in neutral status only. "The IFBB letter that we received on November 10 points out that, in the future, the right to host world championships will be provided only to countries that adhere to IFBB rules and decisions, and will provide equal competition conditions for all national teams. It is very unpleasant when politics get involved in sports, and, of course, it negatively affects the development of sport. Sport must unite people, not divide them," the representative said. In 2025, the men’s world championship will take place in Saudi Arabia and the women’s championship will take place in China. #business #finance #financialservices

One of the many reasons I accepted the #sportspharmacy consultant position to design, lecture and help launch the most #comprehensive sports pharmacy program (with a #clinicalsportspharmacist embedded with sports medicine/ athlete care!) in the US, is this: https://lnkd.in/gY32VWHz (present and past, a long list of the highest performers in their sports) Maybe some of these athletes took an ibuprofen or allergy pill or cream or any drug that might impact their performance, and for which we must check the status in sport before its used. #Athletes need more Qualified Sports Pharmacist they can look to for help as clean athletes. The stars were aligned with many other key factors, as well, to develop this as International Sports Pharmacists Network partnered with the USC Mann School of Pharmacy: >> Pharmacy Administrative leadership championed the idea, are knowledgeable and share a vision, >>the depth of experience and dedication and awareness of their medical professionals for athletic services, >>the relationship the outpatient pharmacist already had supporting the team, >>the interest of the pharmacy students, >>engagement with other departments, >>willingness to reform structures that had been silos, >>innovation with pharmacy counseling and public interface for the sports pharmacist, >>and more. Its the #hubofsportspharmacy looking ahead to #LA28 #sportspharmacists #sportpharmacy #drugsinsport #athletehealth #medicationsafety #medicationcounseling #pharmacyschool

OLYMPIC The modern Olympic Games (OG; or Olympics; French: Jeux olympiques, JO)[a][1] are the world's leading international sporting events. They feature summer and winter sports competitions in which thousands of athletes from around the world participate in a variety of competitions. The Olympic Games are considered the world's foremost sports competition, with more than 200 teams, representing sovereign states and territories, participating. By default, the Games generally substitute for any world championships during the year in which they take place (however, each class usually maintains its own records).[2] The Olympics are staged every four years. Since 1994, they have alternated between the Summer and Winter Olympics every two years during the four-year Olympiad.[3][4] Their creation was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games, held in Olympia, Greece from the 8th century BC to the 4th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894, leading to the first modern Games in Athens in #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking
