Back during my PhD, I had the chance to work on a fascinating project with the FDA, focusing on how we understand and evaluate topical drug formulations, from their structure to their performance. Now, the last papers from this project have been published, bringing together our results in three comprehensive studies: 📰 Paper 1: Explores the application of confocal Raman microscopy for characterising semisolid drug products and their interaction with human skin. 📰 Paper 2: Investigates critical quality attributes of acyclovir creams and how they influence cutaneous bioavailability. 📰 Paper 3: Illustrates the effect of packaging configurations on the performance of topical creams. Spoiler: dispensing methods can lead to metamorphosis of the product, potentially altering bioavailability! This work has been a long journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for the collaboration and support from everyone involved.
