I get this question a lot from plastic surgeons. First, determine if it is a complication or a revision. Big difference. 👉 Complication: I don’t recommend charging a fee to address a complication. 👉 Revision: I generally recommend charging for facility and anesthesia fees (including an office facility fee if it’s done under local) and either waiving or reducing the surgeon’s fee, depending on the nature of the revision, and IF… ☑️ Patient followed all pre- and post- op instructions ☑️ Patient attended all scheduled appointments ☑️ Patient has no significant changes in health, including weight changes 💡Put this verbiage in your financial policy and on the quote: “Though rare, occasionally revision surgery may be indicated or desired. You may be eligible for reduced surgeon’s fees if you keep all post-operative appointments, follow all pre- and post-operative instructions, and maintain a stable weight.
