How do we get public services right? AI has to play a part, but it is not *the* solution. Prof Gina Neff emphasised the fact that tech adoption takes work; it involves sociotechnical solutions like implementing localised safeguards and carefully considering the values of the public sector – simply sprinkling “AI fairydust” over our public services is not the answer.
