Arup's Scallops & Oysters..... We are proud to have been recently involved in Arup's impressive new Leeds office fit out which included an innovative lighting installation from LumiAdd, embodying both parties’ commitment to the future of sustainable lighting. In addition to the specification of our plant polymer Lania track mounted spotlights, LumiAdd worked closely with the Arup lighting design team to develop a series of bespoke 3D printed pendants. Driven by Arup lighting design teams’ creative vision, the pendant luminaires boast an organic design inspired by the natural world, bringing an element of serene beauty into the workspace. This project was the perfect opportunity for LumiAdd and Arup to showcase the benefits of 3D printing and plant polymers by selecting a unique blend of PLA combined with reclaimed scallop and oyster shells from restaurant waste. This lighting solution not only underscores a dedication to progressing sustainable design, but it adds a unique narrative to the office design; celebrating the re-use of materials which is in keeping with the overarching ethos of the whole project. We would like to say a big thank you to: Dan Lister, Jessie Huang, Maria-Suen Kwok, Elizabeth Cooper, Helen Wright and Rebecca Rogers of Arups. Join us as we illuminate our path to a more sustainable and aesthetically enriched future! #sustainable #lighting #design #circulareconomy
