“Knowledge is having the right answer. Intelligence is asking the right question”
The foundation of growth and understanding lies in the ability to ask meaningful questions. In a recent session with Infosys, I delved into a thought-provoking inquiry: "While companies like Infosys advocate for a 70-hour work week to foster growth, contemporary research highlights the effectiveness of a 4-day work week. Which approach is better?" This exploration yielded valuable insights into work-life balance, productivity, and employee well-being.
70-Hour Work Week
Advantages: Enhanced productivity, accelerated career advancement, rapid skill development.
Disadvantages: Risk of burnout, work-life imbalance, health issues, diminishing returns over time.
4-Day Work Week
Advantages: Improved work-life balance, better overall well-being, increased productivity, higher employee retention.
Disadvantages: Challenges in workload management, meeting client expectations, and implementation hurdles.
Determining the optimal approach depends on industry specifics, company culture, and individual preferences. It is crucial to strike a balance that prioritizes employee well-being while sustaining productivity.
From my perspective, young professionals should emphasize continuous learning and growth without being overly concerned about the time invested, while also maintaining their health.
Continue to ask questions, remain curious, and never stop learning.
