🎄 Merry Christmas… eventually! 🎄 Once upon a time, back in my accounting days, Christmas Day didn’t actually start for me until Boxing Day. Why? Because I was that person—working right up until Christmas Eve, desperately trying to squeeze in as much work as possible before the office closed. Shopping for food for my Christmas guests? Barely happened. Enjoying the day itself? Let’s just say I was too busy catching my breath. 🙈 But here’s the thing I’ve learned (the hard way): the work will still be there after the holidays. Christmas, however, is a fleeting moment—a time to pause, reflect, and celebrate, whether it’s with family, friends, pets, or a stack of festive movies (cue Love Actually and Elf on repeat!). So this year, I’m reminding you to plan ahead. Wind things down early, get yourself organized, and—most importantly—give yourself the gift of peace. You’ve earned it. And who knows? By slowing down a little, you might just find yourself enjoying Christmas on Christmas Day (imagine that!). 🎅✨ Wishing you a joyful, stress-free, and truly merry Christmas! #MerryChristmas #WorkLifeBalance #BusinessOwnersHoliday #RelaxAndReflect #PragmaticJoy

1wWell this year I worked right up to Christmas Eve, but we did 8 pay runs that day, and a year ago I would have been responsible for some of them. This year I only picked up a few tasks my team couldn’t do. This is progress! I gave them all time off on 27th cause all the tasks were up to date, but one forgot and came to work for a couple of hours anyway to help out! (I had another large pay run to do) This year there are 2 BAS agents in the biz, last year only me. This year we only have clients we love working with and who appreciate our input and advice. We almost doubled in size last year, and the whole team grew and matured and we moved into areas we couldn’t have previously. Last year it was hard to take time off without checking in constantly. This year I’ve managed 3 or 4 stints away and marginal checking. The staff know how to contact me in an emergency and they can handle things without me. Yay for growth and learning to delegate and grow a team. Merry Christmas…late, but been too busy enjoying life
