This year the Speed team have taken part in Discover Creative Careers Week, an initiative designed to pair creative organisations with secondary schools to give young people the opportunity to gain insight into real job roles and pathways into industries traditionally dominated by white, university-educated graduates.
Run by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, our team hosted a workshop for learners from Bristol’s Brunel Academy via the Cabot Learning Federation.
The theme of the workshop was anti-knife crime, and we invited Leanne Reynolds, who is committed to reducing youth knife crime and violence in the South West, to share information about her work.
The learners were then asked to come up with their own anti-knife crime campaigns and the creative and insightful outputs were fantastic!
Thanks to our team of Speedsters, Sarah Firth, Nicola C., Liliyana Goodier and Amy Mansfield, who presented to the students and coached them through the creative task.
We’re all looking forward to our next creative session together. 💫
