It's easy to forget that culture in healthcare is built on the foundation of relationships. Genuine conversations are the heartbeats of all healthcare organization. Every interaction, every dialogue contributes to shaping the culture of an organization. It is not done by sending emails. Culture transformation in healthcare isn't a top-down process; it's about people connecting on a personal level. Every conversation can become a stepping stone towards change. Treat others as you would like to be treated in your interactions. 🔷 Get to know the people you serve. 🔷 Learn their actual names and meet them where they are, not where YOU feel comfortable. 🔷 Remember to be flexible. Real change truly happens in healthcare when we engage with one another on a human level. #conversationsthatmatter #leadership #nursesonlinkedin #nurses #healthcare #nurselife #nurseleaders #nursesrock #nursestrong #nursestudent
100% healthcare is about relationships.
You can’t treat a patient you don’t know!
100% have to have time built in to have these conversations as well
Building a positive culture in healthcare isn't just about policies or procedures—it's about genuine connections and conversations. Treating others with respect, getting to know them personally, and being flexible are key ingredients in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
Absolutely 💯
Agreed! I am lucky enough to be a “nurse coach” to nursing students in my current position…. I hope to add impact by expanding students knowledge to include this important idea! 💡 thanks for sharing! Mélissa Laroche MScN, BBA, RN, IIWCC, GNC(C)
It's good to walk to the unit and talk to the staff and thank them sometimes for their hard work not always go to the unit and look for mistakes and find fault with everything.
Love this. So important and relevant. Connecting at a really granular level, sharing knowledge and experiences, collaborating, innovating and understanding that we are all in it together. Love “meet them where they are”

10moIn my entire managerial career even healthcare, I never called anyone over the phone. I walked to their offices/desks across the hall or parking lots. When I am called on the phone, the conversation never went beyond listening to their needs and I saying, I will be there in a minute. Phones are only for external business, not for folks in a walking distance.
