Let's talk about the importance of lead pacing and how to tell if your lead gen partners are actually working in your best interest. Ready? Every organization is going to engage leads differently, whether you nurture your leads through your MAP or you engage them through your BDRs. Pretty simple right there right! Lead gen providers who show an inconsistency in their lead deliveries, I.E. slow steady pacing and then at the end of the month/quarter dump a massive amount of leads on your lap, it's a major RED FLAG. It shows either a lack of understanding of how their clients work, a lack of understanding of what is important to their clients or simply put, they just want to get as much invoicing for the month/quarter as they can. The secret to higher conversions is automated lead scoring. Not all prospect actions deserve equal weight. Opening an email might be worth 1 point, but requesting pricing details could be worth 10. Here's an example of how to build your scoring system: ↳ Email opens = 1 point ↳ Content clicks = 2 points ↳ Guide downloads = 5 points ↳ Demo requests = 10 points ↳ Inactive 30 days = -2 points (Note the negative points for inactivity) You can also get more granular. ↳ Awareness stage guide = 3 points ↳ Consideration stage guide = 4 points ↳ Evaluation stage guide = 5 points This creates a dynamic view of engagement and helps prioritize your follow-up. P.S. Some marketers downplay lead scoring but I find it very useful in filtering who you should follow up with, when to connect, and what to say.
