We've just wrapped up the Decision Optimisation Course at Vlerick Business School, and what an eye-opening experience it has been! Though it's a short time, it's enough for us to realize: LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! Because we, as humans, are the decision-makers. With advanced technology at our fingertips, we can leave boring and complex tasks to robots or models while we focus on playing the wonderful decision-making game. Life is full of choices, and real decision-making is about navigating risks in a dynamic reality. That’s what makes it so exciting and rewarding. A huge thank you to Mario Vanhoucke for guiding us through the complexities (and frogs!) of decision-making. Not only did you inspire us about decision-making, but you also sparked a new curiosity about beautiful Lisbon – I’ve already booked my flight tickets! As I concluded my QBR today, I reflected on the image of a small Docker whale inside a glass globe on my desk. This tiny but mighty figure symbolizes our spirit at Docker - small in the vast tech landscape but boldly navigating and exploring new territories. It reminds me of our team's approach not just in our work but in our personal lives as well - dynamic, adventurous, and always exploring. I'm fortunate to be part of a sales team that embodies this spirit. We don’t just strive to meet targets; we embrace challenges that enrich our lives - whether it's running marathons, boxing, watercolor painting, diving into the underwater world, or traveling to as many countries as possible 🌍 Joining Docker, Inc two years ago was a turning point for me. Inspired by colleagues who are unafraid to push limits and live authentically, their drive has motivated me to expand my own horizons. This quarter, I’m embracing a new personal challenge: I am joining a running club! While marathons might not be on the immediate horizon, who knows what the future holds? It’s been exactly 10 days since Visarjan now, and I’ve been thinking about the whole experience- Every year, I eagerly wait for Ganpati Bappa to arrive. The decorations, the energy, the sense of togetherness - it all feels magical. But, as the days pass and the time for Visarjan comes, there's always this bittersweet feeling. This year, while watching the visarjan, something clicked. It reminded me of management in the most unexpected way. When Bappa arrives, we prepare with excitement, planning every detail to make sure everything goes smoothly. It's just like launching a new project or leading a team -  we give it our best, ensuring everything is in place. But then, just as Bappa's stay is temporary, so is every project or decision we make. No matter how attached we are, there’s a point where we have to let go, trusting that the work we've put in will carry us forward. Ganpati Visarjan isn’t just about saying goodbye. It's about knowing when to release control, celebrate the journey, and make space for new beginnings. Either it's Bappa or a project, it gives us long-lasting memories. ✨ So, as I watched Bappa make his way into the water, I realized this - A great leader always know when to hold on and when to let go.
