⚡ Shining a spotlight on safety with our incredible electricians at Nardone! ⚡ Meet Ed, one of our electrical foreman, who champions safety on our job sites. “We hold a safety meeting every Monday morning. During these meetings, I consistently emphasize to my crew the importance of remaining vigilant in the ever-changing environment around them. With other trades progressing on their parts of the project, it’s possible they might not be fully aware of our activities. Construction sites are dynamic, with conditions shifting constantly—whether it’s items being relocated, debris falling, or open holes appearing. It’s imperative that we remain attentive to everything happening around us. I stress all the time, really the only one who can keep a person safe is yourself.” Ed keeps his team united through constant communication and self-awareness, adapting swiftly to site conditions. Safety isn’t just a priority—it’s our cornerstone at Nardone, woven into every aspect of our projects. ⚡️ #ConstructionSafetyWeek

️ It's Construction Safety Week! At Cherry City Electric, safety is our top priority, and we're committed to ensuring the well-being of our team and everyone on our job sites. Here's some tips to keep in mind this week: Tip 1️⃣: Proper PPE is key! Ensure all team members have the right personal protective equipment, including gloves, safety glasses and hard hats. PPE is your first line of defense against hazards and can prevent serious injuries. Tip 2️⃣: Never underestimate the power of communication: Clear and consistent communication among team members can prevent accidents and ensure everyone is aware of potential hazards. Tip 3️⃣: Keep Work Areas Clean and Organized: Cluttered work areas increase the risk of trips, falls, and other accidents. Keep your work area clean and organized, and promptly clean up any spills or debris. This not only enhances safety but also improves productivity. Tip 4️⃣: Practice Proper Lockout/Tagout Procedures: Before performing maintenance or repairs on electrical equipment, follow lockout/tagout procedures to ensure that the power is safely disconnected. Never assume that a circuit is de-energized – always verify before starting work. Tip 5️⃣: Stay Educated and Updated: Stay informed about the latest safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards for electrical work. Participate in regular safety training sessions and encourage ongoing education among your team members. Let's make safety a priority every day, not just during Construction Safety Week! Together, we can create a safer work environment for everyone. #CherryCityElectricCares #MorrowMeadowsCares #ConstructionSafetyWeek #ElectricalSafety #SafetyFirst

🛠️ In Order to Be It, You Gotta See It! This week, we're featuring Nikita Olar for #WorkingTradeswomanWednesday, a Construction & Maintenance Electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1687! 🔌 Nikita got into the trades because of her father! She says, "My father is an electrician and it was a job I could see myself excel in in the future." As a tradeswoman, Nikita shares the greatest work benefits, explaining, "The greatest benefits of working in the trades are all the people, places, and new jobs you get to experience. My local union is known for having a vast area to travel for work and you are always making new friends and learning new ways to complete the tasks on the job. It’s always a pleasure to switch up the scenery and types of jobs, making your days challenge your mind and social skills." 💡 We all know there are challenges associated with the trades. But to this Nikita says, "Some days are easier than others, but when you have amazing coworkers that understand you can do the job just as well as they can, it makes it that more rewarding!" ✨ Some wise words from Nikita: "To all the women who are afraid of the trades and don’t know if they will like them or not, it doesn’t hurt to try! If you believe you can, you will! Believe in yourself and you will follow the path that feeds your soul in ways no office job can. The trades are so rewarding, with learning new skills that you can take and apply to any at-home projects and helping family and friends. You will never know if you don’t give it a shot and put your best foot forward!"

True North Plumbing & Langlois Journeymen Electricians Safety Program is undeniably the cornerstone of the Northern Lights Infrastructure solution’s Portfolio. This initiative transcends traditional support by empowering First Nation reserves & Northern Municipal’s with the essential skills and knowledge to address critical electrical and mechanical issues within their own communities. By focusing on hands-on training and self-sufficiency, True-North Plumbing and Langlois Journeymen Electricians are not only enhancing the safety and well-being of individuals but also fostering a sense of independence and resilience and also economic development. This program's impact is profound, as it ensures that community members are well-equipped to handle emergencies and maintenance tasks, thus reducing reliance on external services and promoting a sustainable, self-reliant future. The ripple effect of this empowerment extends beyond immediate safety, contributing to the overall stability and growth of the communities involved. In this way, the safety program hstands out as the most vital component of the Northern Lights Infrastructure Portfolio, embodying the principles of community strength, self-reliance, and long-term safety.

How one simple question saved 329 electricians from working at heights (Why did you choose those specific locations for your cable trays?) Believe it or not, I had no clue this question would: ↳ Spark crucial conversations between designers and construction managers, and ↳ Shift our approach from the “typical” 👉 the “possible”. The Impact? A staggering 680,000 electrical hours eliminated from heights. (Thats like 329 electricians working for a year) Managing 329 electricians at heights is more daunting than you think. And here’s why: 1. Theres a ton of expensive scaffold 2. Lots of intensive training and relentless supervision, not to mention… 3. Total reliance on safety harnesses The winning formula? 1. Safety-first design meetings (carefully planned to challenge norms) 2. Pinpointed questions (that cut to the heart of the challenge) 💡 The lightbulb moment? ↳ Discovering new locations for the cable trays, entirely avoiding heights altogether. And after all of the above… 1. Work at height dangers were removed 2. Setup times were slashed 3. Installation time was dramatically cut My major takeaway? → all it took was: 1. Asking the right questions 2. Keeping an open mind 3. Committing to a safer approach But the real kicker? What began with a simple question → has now become standard practice. And it has led to a method that consistently reveals: 1. New opportunities (for safety and efficiency) 2. Significant cost reductions 3. And, most importantly - a safer work environment If you find this post useful, hit repost ♻️ Thanks! P.S. What question have you found effective in managing high-risk tasks at your work?
