Ahead of its broadcasting program tonight in #Japan (JST Sept 4 19:00-19:57), NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation published a teaser article on #healthspan and XPRIZE #xprizehealthspan featuring Peter H. Diamandis, Jamie Justice, Ph.D., Dr. Mehmood Khan (CEO, Hevolution Foundation ) and many more. #Healthspan field is heating up in Japan and it's ripe for transformation! Here is the machine-translated Editorial Comment: "**Post-Interview Reflections: Pursuing Hope Through Anti-Aging Research** Dr. Shinichiro Imai, who continues his research in the United States, compares anti-aging research to the Greek myth of "Pandora's Box." The story goes that when Pandora's box was opened, pain, suffering, and disaster emerged first, but hope remained at the end. Dr. Imai points out that anti-aging research might initially bring challenges to society. Issues such as health disparities between those who can afford anti-aging medicine and those who cannot could arise. However, he emphasized that researchers continue their work with the hope of eventually benefiting as many people as possible. During the interview, I also encountered questions like, "Do we really want to live that long?" The desire for longevity may vary from person to person. On the other hand, if treatments for diseases caused by aging are established and technology allows people to live healthily until their last moments, it seems like something everyone should be able to benefit from. I hope that research and development will continue to advance, and I will keep covering the societal challenges surrounding aging." https://lnkd.in/gCWGmDYH
Less than a week ago, The Mainichi Newspapers reported on XPRIZE #Healthspan and some Japanese teams. (https://lnkd.in/gnj-Ncp6) Now I’m informed by NHK, Japan Broadcasting Corporation (45 million subscribers in Japan) that they will touch on #XPRIZEHEALTHSPAN on the renowned news program, “Close Up Gendai” on JST Wednesday, September 4th, to “close up” on what’s happening in aging research and technology translation in Japan & the world. Talk about the timing! We just finished the Aging Research & Drug Discovery Meeting (#ARDD2024) on Friday. Japanese researcher was absent from #ARDD2024 stage. Yet, seems like we, Healthspan X Alliance (JAPAN), are succeeding in igniting the Heathspan industry in #Japan!! Let’s make the #healthspan #inevitable! In the Japan Next Generation Medical Infrastructure Act, it is determined that medical data will be databaseized. What we see from the patient's point of view does not come true there either. No matter how long it takes, the status of patients is low, and society can't listen to their opinions as medical technology evaluators. the concept would be easy to understand that only patients manage data by ourselves, but it's impossible for only patients, actually.
