Just back from an unbelievable trip to Las Vegas 🎲🤩 A place where there is literally no concept of time. Up at 5am with jet lag? No problem, everywhere is open anyway 🤣 Great for a holiday, but got me thinking about how this applies in life as well. Do we sometimes forget the concept of time when we are busy building our lives? I speak to people too often where optimism bias has them thinking time is unlimited 💭 “I’ll retire then” “I’ll go the holiday then” “I’ll make up the lost time with family then” We could all do with being a bit more present and enjoying life now rather than waiting for some future date to come. Of course, that takes money. And that is why it’s so important to have a financial plan built around your life. Your goals. Your needs. To allow you to tick off some of the bucket list items now, whilst ensuring you have enough left for the future. Leave the gambling to the casinos ✅ #financialplanning #lifeplanning #lasvegas

𝗢𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, I noticed the sign read $800 Million for tonight's Mega Millions drawing, and boy, does my mind wander at the possibilities. (I walked into the coffee shop thinking about the 10,000 square foot mansion on prime real estate overlooking Lake Burton.) By this time tomorrow, either that astronomical number will climb even higher or someone is, at best, going to call into work sick with a little too much excitement in their voice. 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻?  Me holding that big check at a press conference. I mean, it's fun to think about, but the odds are, as follows:  1:302,575,350. I'll still buy five, just to hedge my bets a little. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴:  it likely won't come in a newfound hundreds-of-millions-of-dollars lifestyle, but you and I have the capacity to build better for ourselves every day. Do you think of your career with the same amount of gusto? What if we approached every day with the kind of vigor, anticipation, and desire that we do in our greatest day dreams? I hope one of us wins this week -- and if you do, just know your good friend Benjamin Sheffield has always held you in high regard -- but the reality is, our future success is far more rooted in our day-to-day actions, the choices we make and plans we build, as in ten bucks spent at a rural gas station because the numbers on the interstate sign were too large to pass up. If it's a desire, take some time this week to think about how to better your career in balancing your lifestyle, creating more freedom financially, and better aligning to your long-term purpose. Those mindsets pay off for far more people than the single lucky individual that hits the exact six numbers needed for insta-wealth.
