PARIS (DEFENSEHERE) - Çukurova Makina opened the door to new collaborations by exhibiting its products and systems at the Eurosatory 2024 Fair held in Paris, the capital of France.
Çukurova Makina Deputy General Manager Hüseyin Darıcı made evaluations to Defensehere.com regarding his impressions of the fair, the features of the products they exhibited and the services they offered to their customers:
“We make a point of attending the Paris Eurosatory fair every two years. We exhibit our products here. We brought two chassis, a fast armored Backhoe Loader, and our new product, the 980 armored loader.
Our 980 armored loader can be controlled with a two kilometer remote control. It is a BR7 protection level product. The protection level in the BR7 standard is a high level of protection. With its remote control, you can easily send these products to operational areas, mined areas, or areas under arms.
We can send both this new product and the fast armored Backhoe Loader. By controlling it with joysticks from a distance of two kilometers, it can support excavation work or an operation there. We are comfortable about this. It has been tried before, and there are also people who buy it and use it.
We believe it is a good product. Our hope is to introduce our products, new products and existing products to potential customers here.
We are a member of Çukurova Holding. Çukurova Holding is a one hundred and twenty-five year old holding. Our company is ÇUMİTAŞ, namely Çukurova Machinery Manufacturing Trade Joint Stock Company. This is a fifty-five year old company.
Çukurova Defense is also a company working under this. They generally know our name in automotive, construction equipment and defense fields. We work entirely for export. We have chassis suitable for 4x4 and 6x6 APC and MRAP vehicles ranging from eight tons to twenty-three tons.
Our engineering side is really strong. This engineering background of ours goes back forty years. Regarding this, we are in a position to respond to all customers' requests.
We are a group that has the ability to produce almost all kinds of components, except the engine and transmission, on a chassis or a work machine. Of course, we are working on such improvements over time.
Our expectations from the French fair are always high and we have always attached great importance to it. We care very much about this place. Because we have customers from all over the world who come here both to visit and to evaluate business opportunities for this fair.
This is also a good feature. Of course, although it makes us a little sad that the entrance to the fair is so crowded, the density is good and the interest is great, which makes us happy.

Babak Kia's statements to SteelRadar, mentioned that it was their first time participating in the fair and that the event proved to be very productive for them. Kia stated, "In larger fairs we attended before, we didn't have the opportunity to chat extensively with participants. However, at this fair, we had the chance to have long conversations with many individuals from the iron and steel sector and to meet new people. We are happy that we participated."
Established in 2005, West Alborz Steel Group is renowned as one of Iran's largest iron and steel companies, operating as an advanced steel production facility that converts recycled metal and DRI into high-quality carbon and low-alloy steel billets, as well as hot-rolled steel products.
Addressing the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on exports, Kia mentioned, "Our exports are going well. Currently, there are no issues. Many companies are facing difficulties in this regard. We are currently exploring new markets. The African region is particularly important for us. A type of profile we produce is only manufactured by one company in Turkey. Our billets are also of high quality."

The Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2024. His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands, has granted the company the designation ‘Royal’. On Thursday 26 September, the King's Commissioner Wouter Kolff presented the Royal award to the company.
The Royal designation is only awarded on the occasion of a special anniversary to companies that have prestige in terms of nature, size and reliability and occupy a leading or very prominent position in their field in the Netherlands, preferably with an international reputation. The company must have existed for at least a hundred years and have built up a good reputation during that period.
Peter Rietberg, Chairman of the Management Board: “We are proud of this recognition of what Piet van Leeuwen once started as a one-man business and what has grown into an international, leading company. For a family business, continuity is one of its most important core values. As chairman of the management board, but especially as the grandson of the founder, I consider it a great honor that our company may carry the Royal designation. This is literally the crowning achievement of our work, now also visible in our redesigned logo.”

With the end of the Spring Festival holiday in February 2024, Chinese factories have begun normal production. Due to the continuous improvement of production capacity and the resumption of operations of corporate steel plants, the import and export orders of Chinese enterprises have experienced considerable growth since the start of construction, and the prices of some products may experience a slight decrease.
Taking the external quotation of Hainan West Asia Group's ferrosilicon cored wire as an example, the CIF Iranian port quotation on February 19 was 1,240 USD/MT. As of today, March 1, the price of this product at the port may be reduced by 40 USD/MT. West Asia Group stated that it will fully support first-time cooperation customers in bidding.
At the same time, West Asia Group said that since the resumption of work on February 18, the number of received customer inquiries has also been steadily increasing.
