We were delighted to host Mikeysline first ever concert in our Osprey Arena. On Saturday 12th of October, we hosted Manran Live in Aviemore a charity gig with headliners Manran and local artists Calum MacPhail and Dylan James Tierney. It was great to see the Osprey Arena full of happy customers enjoying the music and supporting the Charity. Our conference spaces are so versatile, the Osprey Arena can transform from a concert hall to Exhibition hall and we have an array of meeting spaces I. The conference centre. Colchester Arts Centre is a great #ThirdPlace in the UK. Stephen Rohan writes on MyThirdPlace: "Colchester’s Arts Centre has been running since 1980 (one year before I was born) and is arguably one of Colchester’s most important creative spaces. The venue is run by a dedicated team of locals who have a passion for music, the arts and entertainment. As a focal point of the Colchester community, The Arts Centre engages in lots of outreach work that directly benefits Colchester residents and others. Current programmes include African Families UK which provides a space for African families to get together, and the second is the recently formed Gamechanger Pt 2, which aims to help those in often-neglected areas around Colchester and Tendring such as Jaywick. The venue is also partnered with local and nationwide charities including Nightshelter and Colchester FoodBank, and it’s possible to make donations via the website, as well as donations to the Arts Centre itself" Read Stephen's full article here: https://lnkd.in/eHF_YFsk #thirdplace #thirdspace #socialspace

Did you know you can submit a request for an official proclamation, citation or letter of greeting from the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC)? • Proclamations are issued for a day, week or month to bring awareness to an issue, event or celebration, and are given during BOCC meetings and live streamed to the public. • Citations are issued to recognize notable achievements such as an anniversary or milestone. • Letters of Greeting help organizations celebrate special events in Calvert County, like cultural festivals, non-profit fundraising benefits and other significant events. Do you know of someone or something deserving of BOCC recognition? Find the submission guidelines and procedures online at https://lnkd.in/eiPExsaX. All requests are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by the county administrator.

It's well understood that performance venues, museums, public media, and other non-profits can't survive -- even as non-profits -- on income from the work they do. That is: selling tickets, ads, memberships, and sponsorships (along with annual gifts, individual donations, and bequests) simply won't pay the bills for rent, heat, and wages. In some cases, benefits are off the table completely. As a result, most medium to large sized non-profits rely heavily on grants -- many from federal and state sources. In this political climate, it may be time to rethink this "reality" of the nonprofit world. Why can movie theaters survive on ticket sales when live theaters can't -- even with supplemented income from sponsors and subscribers? Why can privately owned media thrive on ad revenue when public media can't do the same with sponsors whose ads play hourly? Why don't huge tuitions from thousands of students, along with generous donations from alumni, cover the costs of universities? I can't help but wonder whether it might be time for some new models...

Listening locally.... We can't quote listening figures in the way that BBC and Commercial radio stations do, but we have conducted surveys, with support of the UK Community Radio Network to discover the impact of what we do locally For our listeners, when it comes to local business, organisations, and charities a large percentage were aware of them due to information played out on K107FM – 82%. Trust of this information was also high, with 72% saying they were more likely to trust information about local business, organisations, and charities played out on K107FM as opposed to elsewhere. In addition, 70% were more likely to act upon such information as a result of hearing it specifically with us, with 68% having engaged with local business, organisations, and charities (for example by buying from them, using their services, or donating to them) as a direct result of hearing about them on K107FM Increase brand awareness, from a trusted source - your local radio station! 📻 Could we help you in 2025? 📧 sales@k107.co.uk

Between 2023 and 2024, we awarded over £5 million to third-sector organisations, social enterprises, and individuals dedicated to creating a fairer, happier and healthier Midlands. One of these organisations was Legacy West Midlands, a Birmingham-based charity, who received £142,551 from the Inclusive Communities Fund. In 2024, they delivered Journeys, a community arts programme that celebrated the cultural heritage of Commonwealth communities and raised the profile of local cultural organisations across the West Midlands. The Journey's programme included : 🎶 This Train – A live musical performance celebrated Sister Rosetta Tharpe and transatlantic Black music, with shows in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Coventry. 🎭 Mini Saathis – A youth theatre project in Aston culminated with free performances for participants. 🌊 Nowka Bais – A Bangladeshi dragon boat regatta brought Brindley Place to life, complete with street food and stage performances. 🌳 Outdoor Arts & Learning – Over 1,260 primary school children in Handsworth and Sandwell participated in arts and learning activities. This impactful programme, supported by six local partners, is a testament to the vibrant cultural communities thriving across the West Midlands.
