The global gaming community unites to save lives in Ukraine ❤️🩹 📊 Nearly 2,400 streamers. Almost 5,000,000 views. The campaign focused on a Fortnite space called The Donation Map. But how can a Fortnite map help save lives in Ukraine? The rule is simple: playing or staying on it generates money, so the more people play, explore, and stay, the more money is raised 💰 🤝 Together with Havas Play 🇫🇷 and Havas Digital Kyiv, inStreamly and its local partners has launched a dedicated streamer campaign to give The Donation Map a global reach. Every opportunity to support Ukraine is important to me. Especially if we can use our technology to do so. That's why the global gaming community united last month to promote The Donation Map in Fortnite and raise money for rebuilding the Prybuzka Outpatient Clinic in the Mykolaiv region. The rule was simple: playing on the map generates money, so the more people play, explore, and stay, the more money is raised. 💸 On the top, the created Fortnite space enabled players from all over the world to visit an exact replica of the iconic Independence Square in Kyiv, and learn about the Ukrainian capital thanks to the billboards on the map. When everybody plays, we all win. The third-annual One Big Game fundraiser—a 24-hour soccer match between UK video game developers—kicks off today. The third-annual event will raise money for SpecialEffect, a charity seeking to level the playing field for all gamers with disabilities. Teams from games companies such as Activision, Jagex, Ninja Theory, Ubisoft and more will come together to decide once and for all (or for at least a year) who is better: Team Red or Team Blue. All teams taking part will be assigned to represent one of those colors and will play in a full 90-minute match, where the final score will contribute to the overall Team Red and Team Blue tallies. One Big Game has come a long way since its inception in 2020: what started off as a FIFA-based rivalry between Xbox Game Studios Rare and Playground Games evolved into a real-life football face-off between the teams in 2021, and has now transformed into a multi-studio, 24-hour effort played and broadcast live from St. George’s Park. The sporting showdown starts at 11am PT on Sept. 25, with coverage beginning on the Xbox On Twitch channel from 10:30am PT—and then at approximately 11:15am PT on Sept. 26. Gaming for Good is set to take centre stage in 2025, with charities increasingly tapping into the power of gaming to raise awareness and drive donations. With the global gaming industry booming—worth £7.9bn in the UK alone—it's no wonder charities are jumping on board. It's not just about young gamers anymore. Older adults and women are growing demographics in gaming, and charities are getting creative in engaging all ages through live-streaming, interactive games, and even virtual reality. The RSPCA, for example, is using gaming to educate young people about climate change's impact on animals. In 2025, we’ll see even more innovative, inclusive, and purpose-driven gaming initiatives.
