What does born at 300ppm mean? No idea? Neither did I. I was looking at a badge on Lyn Lapworth - ECO for ALL's profile picture and Googled what it said. I found the carbon by birth year calculator! In 1974 when I was born, there was 330.21 ppm of carbon in the atmosphere. So I was born at 330ppm. (Lifted from Lyn's comment we are now at 427ppm of carbon in our atmosphere) Almost daily I find new tools measuring sustainability or our environment. While this one could be explained in an image, the geekier people among us spend a bit more time thinking about the environment when we can interact with tech, in this case, a calculator. Less sustainable I know but if it makes someone more aware then it's an investment. So if someone chooses a sustainable website or hosting as a result then that small amount of carbon used in the calculator would be saved over and over again for the lifetime of the website. The link is in the first comment if you want to give it a whirl. #sustainability #webdesign #webhosting
