Our vision of the Chalupkova Bratislava Architecture & Urban Design Competition - organized by Penta Real Estate - in Bratislava aims to revitalize a neglected brownfield, creating a vibrant community in the continuity of the Sky Park project by Zaha Hadid Architects. The project is a mixed use combining residential, office and commercial areas. It embraces “porosity,” weaving together varied elements into a harmonious composition that facilitates movement and creates a dynamic interplay of light and gravity. The project showcases as well a high rise building of 115 meters high, making it a pivotal feature on the new skyline. The project prioritizes green mobility and integrates extensive green spaces for biodiversity and temperature balance. It also explores innovative building methods, including a hybrid structure made from timber and concrete. The hybrid structure features timber frames and cross-laminated timber integrated with concrete layers, ensuring both sustainability and structural integrity. With a total above-ground floor area of around 130,075 m², it offers ample space for residents and businesses alike. All ground floors are dedicated to retail, ensuring the plot is self-sufficient and attractive to visitors. This expansion of the new city center on the northern bank of the Danube river seamlessly connects to the old historical city center, enriching Bratislava's urban landscape with a beacon of positive change.
