Attend in person National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) - Seattle meeting. Culturally-Conscious Events: Attract & Retain Asian American Clients Did you know that Washington State is among the top five states with the largest Asian American populations? In Seattle alone, Asian Americans constitute 17% of the population, and this number rises to 34%-37% in Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond. Despite these significant percentages, few are actively focusing on attracting and retaining this vibrant demographic. Are you making intentional efforts to attract Asian american? Fortune 500 companies like Amazon, Google, Costco, and Microsoft recognize the value of this market, where Asian Americans represent 19% to nearly half of their workforce. Furthermore, Asian Americans projected an impressive $1.9 trillion in purchasing power in 2026, the highest levels of education and income, and are the fastest-growing racial or ethnic group in America. If you're looking to tap into this lucrative market, understanding their unique cultures, concerns, and perspectives is crucial. It was a pleasure and an honour to return as one of the mentors of “Doha Debates Ambassador Program” of Doha Debates, a space to meet and learn as a human: a reiteration of our curiosity and excitement of the reality where we “don’t settle for a divided world” This year, in addition to consensus building, facilitating, and system thinking skills, we also emphasised future thinking. In a world where decisions, big or small, are heavily influenced by the existing political, social, and economic structures, our hope is perhaps built upon our ability to think beyond these limitations and pave paths towards those “preferred futures.” Having the opportunity to participate in designing the roadmap of the program, the sessions, and the activities, I have learnt not only about curriculum design but also introspection and kindness. One of my favourite conversations we had was on how dreaming for the future is a privilege and, thus, it is important for those who have this privilege to dream and imagine the future world not only for themselves but also for others who may be less fortunate. Last but not least it was a privilege of mine to work with you, Shamim, Shazia, Shaima, Bashir, Alavi, Azra, Valeriia, and Ife, a group of passionate and inspiring (and poetic) individuals who are committed to playing a part in building the world they believe in. Throughout the program, we work through different facilitation assignments on our goal of the world where “the global population is interconnected with a commitment to ensuring justice and sustainable peace.” We brainstormed, shared our stories, thoughts and values, asked curious questions, reflected on our similarities and differences, and built consensus. Building consensus has never been easy, but when the will is there, realms of possibility expand. It was through these incredible, yet humble, minds that “hope” also started to grow on me. I am grateful. P.S. We have concluded the program for a while but the story needs to be shared. I hope the poster can fully capture the richness of our conversation.

Find out more about how to grow you Professional Speaker business by being part of a nationwide and global organisation that encourages, supports and inspires - Professional Speakers Association of NZ - PSANZ!
🌟Monica Moore our Immediate Past President answers the question: Why am I a member of Professional Speakers Association of NZ - PSANZ ? 'PSANZ are my speaking whanau. Because of the support, guidance and opportunities I’ve had from this fabulous association I have been able to achieve far more than I ever thought of. My boundaries were pushed, my horizons widened and before I start to sound even more like a country song, I’ll also say that, like any organisation the resources are there but the work still needs to be done. I’m proud to have won two national awards, to have had the opportunity to lead the organisation of three Speaker Summits and facilitate our first Trailblazers book authored by 24 of our members and won an International Book Excellence award for best coffee table book. I am on the Board and led the association for two years as President. Because PSANZ is part of the Global Speakers Federation, I’ve attended conventions in Melbourne and Orlando and have spoken at Conventions in Delhi, Perth and Singapore. I have Professional Accreditation and my next goal is to become a CSP - I’m just over halfway and determined to succeed and be one in ten million.'

📢 Encouraging Attendance at the NENA Conference in Orlando, FL! 📢 Hey 911 professionals! With the NENA Conference in Orlando, FL, just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to express my excitement and encourage those who are able to attend this fantastic event. Having had the privilege of attending a NENA conference in the past, I can attest to the immense value it offers in terms of learning, networking, and professional growth. While I'd love to attend this year's conference, I'm not sure if it'll be possible for me. If you're considering attending, I highly encourage you to seize this opportunity. It's a chance to immerse yourself in informative workshops, engage in insightful discussions, and connect with peers from across the country who share your passion for public safety and emergency communications. Even if you've only attended one conference before, like myself, the experience is invaluable. The knowledge and connections gained can have a lasting impact on your career development. For those unable to attend, keep an eye out for future opportunities to engage in professional development within our industry. Whether it's through local workshops, seminars, or virtual events, there are always ways to continue learning and growing in our field. To all my fellow 911 professionals, let's support and encourage one another as we strive for excellence in our work. Whether you're attending NENA in Orlando or pursuing other avenues of growth, your dedication to our industry is commendable.
