👉🏼 #NETWORKING: "Relationships are everything. Everything in the universe exists only because it is in relationship to everything else. Nothing exists in isolation. We must stop acting as if we are individuals who can make it alone." - Margaret Wheatley What does #NETWORKING mean to you? Are you ready for it? 🤝🚀 Only a few weeks ago, together with Max Beitler, I held a "Networking Session for Dummies" at the BUS2BUS in #Berlin, where we discussed the #challenges of networking and explored how people network. And since the Young Mobility Network💚 💙will be at the polisMOBILITY today, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share five #tips💡 with you before the conference: 1️⃣ ALWAYS NETWORK At POLIS, this could be when you hang up your jacket or wait for your delicious burger in the queue. Leave your comfort zone and don't be afraid to #approach others. 2️⃣ BUILD RELATIONSHIPS Don't just collect business cards; talk to #people and find out who they are and what their needs are. Keep your #promises. It's a give and take. 3️⃣ JOIN A NETWORK There are so many #networks out there to join (e.g., Women in Mobility, Young Mobility Network, Women In Cycling, Association for European Transport (AET)). Every network has a unique story and goal. Find the one that fits your current situation. 4️⃣ USE SOCIAL MEDIA Communicate your interests and make yourself #visible. For example, with this post, I also want to highlight that the Young Mobility Network is at polisMOBILITY today. 5️⃣ NEVER HAVE LUNCH ALONE Meet in person, enjoy #lunch everywhere. This is an absolute MUST at polis today. If you don't know who to go to lunch with, send me a message. I would love to have lunch with you. Happy networking! 🚀✨ Patrick Erdmann, Sarah Dartenne, Daniel Meurer, Totinia Hörner, Dr. Kerstin Wendt, Diana Dréan, Laura Flechsig, Milena Akemann, Kerstin Dämon, Dr. Franziska Wouters #Networking #Mobility #Conference #Berlin #Köln #BUS2BUS #POLIS2024

I need your help! A phenomenal panel has been assembled to discuss Influence, Integrity and Impact: Navigating the Reality of Women Leading in Accounting on March 12th at the Sydney Accounting & Business Expo. This session shall explore the unique role of women leaders in accounting, highlighting the importance of influence, ethical practices, and the unspoken challenges women face. Participants will gain practical insights into balancing visibility with integrity, creating a supportive network, and balancing work-life boundaries, and we may even uncover an additional income stream for you! Now, the ABExpo sessions are typically only 20 minutes long. We’re grateful to ABExpo for kindly providing the space and the opportunity, but would like to extend the session, so we can really unpack this important conversation. We think this conversation will have a positive impact on the community and we need sponsorship to extend the allotted time from 20 to 40 minutes. If you know someone who might be interested - can you tag them below or share this with them. If you’re interested in discussing sponsorship - can you please get directly in contact with Amanda Liversage or Gabriel C. from the ABExpo team. To clarify, I have nothing to do with the sponsorship side, but shall be grateful if you can explore sponsorship opportunities for this session. #AccountingAndAccountants #ABExpo #GWAI Lielette (Habkouk) Calleja GAICD Sarah Lawrance FCPA 🦅 Alex Falcon Huerta

Milano Airport will be named after Silvio Berlusconi. Well, one reason more not to fly into Milano...Do not get me started on what this means for the state of anti-corruption or diversity in Italy... 🙅♀️ What I learned is another example of how women are invisible in this world: 4.3% of airports named exclusively after women 95.4% of airports named exclusively after men 0.3% of airports jointly named after a man and woman Thanks to https://lnkd.in/eDiZeGDS for providing the stats.

At #GITEX, one of the most striking things is how Arab nations seamlessly blend tradition with modern corporate settings. Amidst the world’s most advanced technologies and innovative ideas, you’ll still see traditional attire—an authentic expression of cultural pride. It’s a reminder that, in the Arab world, embracing progress doesn’t mean letting go of what makes us unique. #We love our culture, #and we carry it #proudly, even in the global #corporate sphere. In contrast, it’s interesting to observe professionals from regions like #South East Asia often adopting #Western dress codes. Does this reflect a universal 'corporate uniform'? And can we, in an increasingly globalized world, still preserve our own identities while meeting international business norms? The way we dress is more than just about appearance—it’s about identity, respect, and adaptation. How do we strike a balance between being part of the global corporate community and honoring our heritage? I'd love to hear your thoughts. #kandoora #culture #grounded #sticktoyourroots

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗘 No one ascends in their career and organization without sponsorship. 👉 A sponsor is the person who carries your name into the room when it comes time for a possible promotion. 👉 He or she is the person who will go out on a limb, passionately vouch for you behind closed doors, and introduce you to their network. The invaluable concept of sponsorship - often confined to hushed conversations and exclusive circles of mainly the most influential men - remains out of reach for countless women striving across various organizations. I envisioned a platform that would dismantle these barriers. 👉 It is a walk in an open environment, wearing activewear, for a powerful hour. 👉 Women come with prepared asks, matched with sponsors willing not just to mentor, but champion them. I also wanted the most powerful men I could find in Singapore to listen to the lived experiences of women in Singapore, going beyond data and what they think they may know. 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗞 was born and executed on March 8 led by Lean In Network, Singapore in collaboration with Jana Marlé-Zizková She Loves Data and Jingjin Liu ZaZaZu. We sought to democratize sponsorship, traditionally reserved for the few and usually within the same organization. Immediate impact during this 1-hour walk: ✅ 88 C-Suite men matched with ✅ 200 women ✅ 2000 voluntary hours behind the scenes ✅ 100s of new connections made ✅ 200+ commitments made We received hundreds of feedback, which spurred us to build the WALK THE TALK committee. Much work remains to help women understand the power of sponsorship and leverage it properly once they have it. Last night, this committee came together to discuss how we could build upon the movement we started. We're excited to co-design the next phase with: Tian Chong Ng Atul Jain Matt Hendra Arich Tan James McCready Craig Hewett Follow Lean In Network, Singapore, as we will announce an event in May around sponsorship to help more women in Singapore understand how to identify and leverage this for their career growth. We're excited to expand our community of senior executive male leaders and more women in Singapore, with the support of this committee, to execute a second WALK THE TALK later in the year. If you're a woman in the workplace, what help do you need most regarding sponsorship?

Great insights from the tech queen Chisom Nwokwu. I learnt the following: - Personal branding is very vital in today's world, as it reflects your journey and growth. - Work the work, before talking the talk. -Never prioritize showing off in public, over actual work. #SCA2024 #WomenInTech She Code Africa

#frontiertrails #GoBigOrStepAside #DreamTeamUSA #NorthernTransatlanticCollaborative In addition, multilateral approaches brings forth much more value than the often focused bilateral approaches . (Which is why my Nordic-U.S. activities have included other participants as well). And frankly, such an approach should not require that much more spending, if an effort is put into place for better collaboration and less duplication. Minimize waste and Double-Talk. (This is why it is important to utilize us folks from the Private Sector). Of course, and all participants to pay their fair share.

I completed yesterday a course on Human Rights offered by Deutsche Telekom. In today’s globalized world, understanding and advocating for human rights is not just a moral obligation but a crucial component of sustainable business practices. For a multinational corporation like #Telekom, prioritising human rights is essential, not only in compliance with international standards but also in fostering a culture of respect and dignity across all operations. I feel a profound sense of pride and responsibility being part of an organisation that genuinely integrates these critical issues into our corporate ethos and our daily operations, including our suppliers. Recently I had the chance to listen to an inspiring presentation from our CEO Tim Höttges, where he emphasised that "The business of business is business with value". DT is a value company, we stand by our beliefs across the countries and geographies where we are present, seeing all human beings the same way, as people. 2 weeks ago as part of Bridge Budapest's leadership circle I also had a valuable discussion with Dalma Dojcsák, the leader of the Társaság a Szabadságjogokért - Hungarian Civil Liberties Union. It was a memorable chat and generated in me huge respect for the work that such non-profit organisations do to fight for those who need help. We will continue! I am personally committed to continuing this journey, applying in Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions HU what I’ve learned from these impressions to contribute positively and uphold our high standards of integrity and respect. I look forward to engaging with my colleagues in meaningful ways to ensure that we not only meet but exceed our human rights obligations. Let's all strive to be champions of change, promoting and protecting human rights in every action we take. #HumanRights #CorporateResponsibility #Magenta
