Highlights from AHK Italy's Opening 2024 Event 🌟 Together with over 300 other companies, we had the pleasure of attending the Annual Opening 2024 hosted by Deutsch-Italienische Handelskammer (AHK Italien) and held at the prestigious Palazzo Parigi in Milan. This event offered a valuable opportunity for German and Italian companies to engage in meaningful exchanges with association partners, industry leaders, and key policymakers. The event's highlights included inspiring speeches from AHK Italy's President, Monica Poggio, and the Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action, and Energy of North-Rhine-Westphalia, Mona Neubaur. Monica Poggio initiated the evening with an insightful speech that outlined the association's achievements in 2023 and its objectives for 2024, highlighting sustainability as a central theme. Following her, Mona Neubaur took the stage. Her address emphasized the pivotal role of German-Italian cooperation in fostering innovation and sustainability within our industries. As innovators in energy efficiency and sustainability through AI, we were thrilled to find that our mission perfectly aligns with the event's themes and both speeches. One of my favourite parts of the year is about to begin! 🙌 For me, April means that the HANNOVER MESSE is coming up and I'm more than just excited! It is an industrial trade fair like no other that is so important for Germany as a business location. I am proud to say that the HARTING Technology Group is an established part of the trade fair and has attended every year since 1947. HARTING is shaping the future with technologies for people. The industrial future is digital, electric and sustainable. That's why visitors from all over the world can see our products and innovations for themselves this year, which follow our mission statement "Connecting the All-Electric Society". What is the idea behind the #AllElectricSociety? 💡 The All-Electric Society with the sectors Industry, Mobility, Energy, Infrastructure and Agriculture focuses on renewable electrical energy sources to replace fossil fuels and achieve the much-needed reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. We at HARTING are making our contribution to the All-Electric Society by using our connectivity to promote the coupling of the four sectors and thus also the industrial future! However, the importance of this topic is not only evident at our stand; for the first time, there is even an entire All-Electric Society arena at the Hannover Messe. The AES Arena represents the energy efficiency scenario of a sustainable energy supply and production and thus offers an ideal discussion area in line with the guiding theme of HANNOVER MESSE: "Energising a Sustainable Industry". I am very pleased that HARTING is part of this unique initiative organized by ZVEI e. V.. Last Friday, Vaughan Economic Development brought together more than 50 professionals within Vaughan's industrial sector including manufacturers, distributors, and supply chain contributors to network and learn about future opportunities to promote growth within their business and industry.   Prior to touring the facilities of businesses in attendance, City of Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca delivered opening remarks and Brendan Sweeney of Trillium Network for Advanced Manufacturing provided an update about the landscape of manufacturing in Canada. York Region is the third largest manufacturing cluster in Ontario and events like this are great as they promote industry collaboration and sharing of best practices that can create growth opportunities for the sector in our Region and beyond. As well, the opportunity to participate in the world's largest showcase of advanced manufacturing and technology solutions at HANNOVER MESSE for the purpose of business development was highlighted to all of those in attendance by Bridget Bohan. York Link | York Region Economic Development will be participating and working to highlight the collective strength of the Region's presence within the broader Canadian delegation being led by NGen Canada. The ECCP has just published a new input paper presenting observations on the Styrian cluster landscape: ✅Styria has the fourth largest economy among Austria´s states, accounting for 12.6% of the national GDP. ✅Styria is an important trading centre, accounting for almost 15% of Austria's total exports, largely driven by its strong automotive industry. ✅Styria still has a strong industrial presence. This is reflected in EU industrial ecosystems such as Construction, Agri-Food, Mobility, Transport-Automotive, Energy Intensive Industries and Electronics, all of which have employment levels above the Austrian and EU averages. ✅Styria's innovation ecosystem shows robust strengths, underlined by a vibrant mix of multinationals and SMEs engaged in advanced technology and research.
