Am looking forward to attending Elevate Festival tomorrow and Thursday! Have some 1:1 chats I am looking forward to as well as these specific sessions: ⭐ The brilliant and inspirational Shingai Manjengwa speaking on the: Ethically Intelligent: Guardrails and Safety for AI Deployment panel. I know Shingai and have heard her speak many times, and always look forward to it! Don't miss her! She goes beyond the hype due to her deep expertise and very practical approaches. ⭐ Getting A Pulse on The Future of MedTech with Dr. Devin Singh. Both as a digital & system transformation professional AND as a parent of a young daughter who is often at the ER and urgent visits, I deeply appreciate his work. Many other parents might not know he is behind Hero AI - if you go to the SickKids ER you can scan a QR code that leads you to Beacon, which uses AI to accelerate diagnosis. (Side note: Both Shingai Manjengwa and Muhammad Mamdani (who you might recognize from all the recent news coverage on Unity Health Toronto's use of AI to save lives) recommended that I connect with Devin. I am certainly impressed!) ⭐ Building the Future: Public Labs and the New Era of Open Source AI with Mark Surman of Mozilla. While I haven't met Mark yet, I have long been a fan of Mozilla and am a longtime Firefox user. Mark and Mozilla have long worked on ensuring the public side to the internet. They recently unveiled Mozilla's vision of Public AI, "an approach to everything from AI development and deployment that is built with the public interest in mind": https://lnkd.in/gjkicecS It certainly has me interested and wanting to learn more! Hope to see you tomorrow or Thursday! Say hi if you see me, or dm me so we can meet up. If you can't make it, as always happy to share what I learn. #ElevateFest2024 #publicai #aiforthepeople #patientcenteredai #ai #artificialintelligence #humancenteredai

On December 16th, President-elect Donald Trump and SoftBank Chairman Masayoshi Son announced a $100 billion investment to create 100,000 AI and tech jobs across the country. STEM4US! is announcing a plan to use this funding for AI infrastructure and other upgrades for our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The goal is to help these valuable institutions become AI research hubs, worker retraining centers, and incubators for job creation and violence prevention programs. I look forward to this discussion.

At Ferna Tech, we believe the old model is broken. The idea that building for “me” overpowers building for “us” has led us astray. It’s this mindset that we’ve challenged from the start. We’re the antithesis of hustle culture, rooted in intentional action, whole humanness, and community-driven progress. Today, what we’ve built is a community of founders. Exceptional people bringing exceptional ideas into the world: 🌍 Exceptionally creative 🌍 Exceptionally bold 🌍 Exceptionally black 🌍 Exceptionally global → A month ago, we took our first delegation to Lisbon, hosting the first Black Tech Meetup of its kind at Europe’s most-loved tech conference Web Summit. → 5 months ago, we hosted our first-ever event, the The AI Mixer London alongside our friends at Rise, created by Barclays with one of our incredible advisors Simon Small. → And a year ago, I was sitting, dreaming, and planning what I wanted to build—and how I wanted it to come to life. What Ferna Tech has become today fills my cup—and others’—beyond anything I could have imagined. Now, we’re reaching for the next milestone. We’ve applied to host a panel at SXSW London, and we need your votes! 👇🏽 1️⃣ Follow the prompts in the link https://lnkd.in/dHQzFMav 2️⃣ Search for “Blueprint” 3️⃣ Select Ferna Tech and cast your vote Let’s make this happen, together. #SXSW2025 #FernaTech #BlackTech #GlobalInnovation #CommunityDrivenChange #TechForGood #Innovation #VentureBuilder #VentureStudio #Ferna #TeamFerna Marcus McDowell Sydney Sam Kimberly Ofori Kevin L. We’re excited to announce our presence at CES 2025, not as a company chasing profits or seeking to become the next flashy unicorn, but as a team driven by a simple yet profound mission: to do good, serve our communities, and find real meaning in the work we do. Phoenix Forge AI was founded on the belief that business can be a force for positive change. We want to challenge the status quo by prioritizing people over profits, fostering collaboration, and creating solutions that genuinely improve lives. Our goal isn’t just to innovate but to inspire a shift in how companies approach success—measured not by financial gains but by the impact we leave behind. At CES, we are looking to connect with: Investors who believe in funding ideas that put humanity first. Clients and collaborators who share our passion for developing meaningful, community-focused technology. Visionaries who want to rethink what it means to succeed in business. Throughout the week, we’ll be documenting our journey, sharing the remarkable people we meet, the products we discover, and the insights we gain. But more importantly, we want to listen, learn, and engage with those who share a commitment to doing things differently. If you’re attending CES and this resonates with you, we’d love to connect. Let’s talk, share ideas, and discuss how we can build a better future together—one rooted in purpose, respect, and doing good.

I’ve been thinking a lot about what truly drives me—not just in work, but in life. It’s not profits, accolades, or chasing the next big thing. It’s care. It’s kindness. It’s doing good in this world for our families, our friends, and our communities. That’s what matters most to me. This belief is at the heart of everything I do and everything I hope to achieve with Phoenix Forge. We’re not here to be flashy or to chase the unicorn dream. We’re here to create meaningful, impactful work that serves people and makes the world just a little better. To build a company where care, integrity, and purpose come before anything else. I want to meet people who share this drive—people who care about more than just the bottom line. Whether it’s to talk about leadership, AI, meaningful projects, or just life over coffee or a beer, I’d love to connect. If you’ll be at CES and want to have a real conversation, reach out. Let’s talk about the things that truly matter. If you’re able to, I would be truly grateful if you could share, like, or comment on this post. I’m not being facetious when I say this: I am done operating how we are told to. It’s time for a change. And if I have to, I’ll do it myself—but I’d rather not go this alone. Together, we can build something better. #CES2025 #DoingGood #Leadership #Community #Kindness #PhoenixForge

If you look around, you might think that most quantum startups grow because they span out of a famous university or a wellknown research group. Qunnect never had those privileges, spinning out of a state university and from a relatively unknown, young group. In fact, I was the first PhD graduate of that group. But none of that really decided our faith because we had that one privilege which mattered the most, the best quantum team in the world. People who stood together, through the hardest times, and against all odds pulled off some of the hardest milestones. This year alone we: 🚀 Won the PRISM award for our automated polarization compensation devices. 🚀 Published two peer-reviewed papers. 🚀 Demonstrated the most practical quantum entanglement network in the world. 🚀 Expanded GothamQ to a real data center in Manhattan. 🚀 Added two new products to our suit. 🚀 Generated more than $2M in sales revenue. 🚀 Deployed the world's first full solution Quantum rack for entanglement networks 🚀 Finalized CRADA and partnership with 3 Fortune500 companies and 2 major US agencies. And the list goes on and on. Qunnect is bringing quantum networking out of academia and delivering it directly to the end users globally. None of these things would have been possible without our team 💜
