👉 Here's a question I'm sometimes asked. Q: How do you show past, present and future in BSL? A: In BSL signs do not have ‘endings’ to show tense. Instead BSL uses signs that move through space to show time. These movements are called timelines. In a world where access to information is key to decision making, ensuring that everyone has equal access to critical knowledge is important. Community Podium continues to accommodate people with disabilities (PWD) in its communications as the organization shares information on disinformation, misinformation and malinformation and how they impact civic engagement. In the video below, we tackle communication barriers faced by the deaf and hard of hearing community by using sign language interpreted videos. More so, we have used one of many indigenous languages, isiNdebele, to continue bridging the language gap and accommodating various preferences. Disinformation thrives when people lack accurate information and by including sign language interpretation, and indigenous languages, we empower everyone to make informed decisions. #SignLanguage #InclusionMatters #DisinformationAwareness #DeafRights #HumanRights
