Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced the establishment of a task force to coordinate the development of Halal Industrial Parks and address challenges faced by state governments. As Chairman of the Halal Industry Development Council, he noted that only 11 percent of the 13,000 acres allocated for these parks has been developed since 2009. The task force, chaired by Ahmad Zahid, will collaborate with state governments to identify and resolve issues, including a lack of incentives and inadequate infrastructure, to support the halal industry's growth.
