The shift to streaming for live events creates technical challenges from an advertising perspective, according to Andrew Heald, Manager, Publisher Development at Index Exchange, due to the ad hoc nature of the ad breaks resulting in surges in ad requests. “As a business we need to be able to support those enormous spikes in requests and pressure on our compute power to be able to deliver what’s required,” he says.
