This is a bit of a scary story, IMO....The Washington Post reports that this Fall, the Earth will have a Second Moon. Yes, you read that correctly. An asteroid is being pulled into the Earth's orbit for a few weeks before it will return to its natural orbit around the Sun, (allegedly) gifting us with a "second moon" Can only imagine what the Fundamentalists of Every Religion are going to make of that. I hate to think, actually... https://lnkd.in/gQD7PmMA We better hope that Scientists' calculations are correct and the Asteroid's orbit around the Earth is Stable otherwise we could end up going the way of the Dinosaurs. Given that it is going to be a second moon, we really should name it, don't you think? Fingers Crossed it stays up there and doesn't decide to fall out of its new orbit. It could be really cool to see two "moons" at night time. For a few weeks anyway. I keep having visions of those terrible Asteoid movies from the 1990s, Armageddon, and the other one, Deep Impact. Let's hope Science Fiction doesn't turn into Science Fact, which sadly at present is a thing ie The Handmaid's Tale and the South in the USA = Gilead, Margaret Atwood's feminist dystopia is becoming a Reality in the South + MidWest in the USA..
