Today in Strasbourg, the European Parliament elected Ursula von der Leyen for another five years as President of the European Commission. As a European civic tech organisation, we are closely following the President’s priorities and activities linked to our priorities. The 2024-2029 political guidelines highlight numerous points at the intersection of democracy and technology: 🛡️ President von der Leyen prioritised the "European Democracy Shield" in her speech and guidelines. As initiators of the Democratic Shield, our task force is ready to be a strong civil society partner in its implementation. After 6 months of hard work, the fantastic Make.org Brussel team succeeded to put tje democracy shield in the proprity of the new European Commission Presidenr Ursula von der Leyen.
