Big things are happening in the Jones College Supply Chain Management program! Congratulations to Dr. Richard Tarpey, new Director of the Center for Supply Chain Management and Sustainability! #supplychain #sustainability #supplychainmanagement
I am excited to be named the first Director of Middle Tennessee State University's Center for Supply Chain Management and Sustainability. We are working on two exciting programs for the Fall of 2025. · Synergy-Experience: providing students with real-world experience through internships and an innovative program where students work toward specific curriculum objectives in partnership with a project/work experience at a company. · Synergy-CollabLab: students collaborate with industry partners to solve real problems. This program brings students and industry partners together to analyze and solve challenges to find applicable and implementable solutions.

A few months ago, we spoke with Carla Kersey, Project Development Coordinator at Kentucky Educational Development Corporation, who supports HS students through project-based internships. Here's a highlight from our conversation: "Project Based Learning is so much more than hands-on experiences in the classroom; it's also about workforce development." Discover how PBL can enhance teaching and learning and contribute to vital workforce development in our PBL Spotlights: PBL in Career & Tech Education, where National Faculty members share their perspectives on PBL & CTE. In the SUNY Washington Internship Program, we love seeing our students get the opportunity to publish. Check out this new piece, hot off the press, from Makayla Seidle-Beach, a student at SUNY Brockport interning this summer with the Eurasia Center. Her article is entitled "The Israel-Hamas War and its Effects on Jordanian-Israeli Relations." https://lnkd.in/ehpdyJaT (Link works, I just shortened the URL) Great work, Makayla!

This summer Sterling College participated in a new model for the internship experience in partnership with UVM. Students participating in the program "worked with businesses and organizations supporting community resilience in the Northeast Kingdom that hadn’t previously hosted interns, and that had limited connection with UVM". Students stayed on the Sterling College Campus for an eight-week program that supported 12 students who immersed themselves in projects that focused on community resilience in the region. I love this! Jack Rutstein, one of our senior Management Fellows, was featured in The Wall Street Journal. In the immortal words of Calvin Coolidge (one of my favorite presidents): “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On!' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.” ― Calvin Coolidge Jack Rutstein embodies this characteristic. Such grit and determination are the lifeblood of success and the central focus of our business program at DePauw University, e.g., Jon Phillips will touch on this topic this Thursday in our capstone course - see you there, Jack! Resiliency is all too rare. Too few accept the challenge of forging their own path. Jack, I am proud of you and your resiliency. I can't wait to see you blaze your path. #depauw #resilience #persistence
My past, present, and future plans were all well-represented in the The Wall Street Journal this morning. Four years at DePauw University including my semester-long internship at Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and my recent summer internship that led to a post-graduate role at Paradox. A special nod to Lindsay Ellis for creating the wonderful thinkpiece which features other like-minded college seniors who also networked their way to a new heights. Additionally, thanks to Lauren K. who was also quoted, representing the Paradox enzo well. The full article can be seen here: https://lnkd.in/didnRA-K
