🐐 Exciting News from Our Farm! 🐐 I’m thrilled to share that one of our goats recently gave birth to a set of triplets! This incredible event not only brings joy but also offers valuable lessons that resonate in both life and business. Lessons Learned: 1. **Embrace Teamwork**: Just like the triplets will rely on each other for support and growth, successful projects thrive on collaboration. We can achieve more when we work together and support each other's strengths. 2. **Adaptability is Key**: Each goat is unique, just like the individuals in our teams. Adapting our approaches to accommodate different needs leads to a more harmonious environment, whether in the pasture or the workplace. 3. **Resilience and Care**: New life requires nurturing. In our professional lives, we must invest time and resources into developing talent and fostering an environment where everyone can flourish. 4. **Celebrate Milestones**: The birth of these triplets is a reminder to celebrate achievements, no matter how big or small. Recognizing progress boosts morale and inspires continued effort. 5. **Long-Term Vision**: Just as we prepare for the future of our goats, we should always keep an eye on our long-term goals in business. Each step taken today builds the foundation for tomorrow’s success. Let’s take these lessons and apply them in our daily lives, fostering environments that encourage growth, collaboration, and resilience. Here’s to new beginnings and the joy of life! #Leadership #Teamwork #GrowthMindset #Resilience #CelebratingSuccess

It’s the final week of our 8 week spring firefly Adventure programme, this week focusing on ‘Completion’ and bringing the journey of our 9 Adventurers, plus me and Gillam McClure, to a close. This has been the most unexpected of experiences, not only how the concept of the programme was born a few years ago, but also how the experience has unfolded with our first group… especially as I’ve had so many of my own personal ‘growth edges’ revealed. (Who knew that celebrating the challenges I’ve already achieved or overcome would be so damn difficult!!) Despite being the #coach on the programme and (first and foremost) holding the space for the development of our Adventurers, it turns out that literally walking the path alongside our participants put me right into the experience, connecting me at a much deeper level to myself and to our group, enhancing my ability to ask some bloody good questions that moved others forward. I always knew instinctively the programme would work. What I didn’t expect was it to work so well! I’m proud and excited to see what our current group do next and very curious about who the winds will bring to join the 3 people already committed to Adventuring with us in Autumn. We’ll be sharing more about the impact this spring programme has had on our current cohort in the coming weeks, but if you’re curious about knowing more about our Autumn programme (yep, we are enrolling now) DM me or Gil and we’ll set up a call! ✨⛰️✨ #challenge #connection #community #firefly #fireflyAdventure #adventure #coach #coaching #somatics #hike #hiking #outdoors #perspective #experience #ExperientialLearning #PersonalDevelopment #resilience #wellbeing #ProfessionalDevelopment #discovery #leadership #LeadershipDevelopment #EmotionalIntelligence #Emotions #Trust https://lnkd.in/eZx7PPYN

Today, I completed my first 10k run in New Zealand. It wasn’t about being the fastest...it was about showing up, pushing through, and celebrating progress over perfection. This experience reminded me of the power of small wins at work. Success isn’t achieved in one big leap...it’s built step by step. Every effort, every solved problem, every collaboration adds up. Whether it’s running a race or tackling a challenge, showing up and staying consistent makes all the difference. #Motivation #SmallWins #GrowthMindset #10kRun

Heading to the woods to celebrate!! As September rolls in, we all start settling into the rhythm of routine, but today, I’m here to bring you a different kind of routine. One of adventure, growth, and pushing past comfort zones. After months of grind, patience, and faith, a few of my big projects are finally taking shape, and I’ve decided to celebrate in a way I’ve never done before: heading out into the wilderness and camping in the backcountry of Banff. Now, if you know me, you know I’m a bit of a city slicker, so the idea of roughing it in the wilderness, without the luxuries of everyday life, is a HUGE step outside my comfort zone. But as they say, no growth happens where you’re comfortable. Luckily, my brother-in-law is a seasoned outdoor adventurer—so I’m not entirely going in blind! Without him, let’s just say I’d be lost (literally). From now until the second week of October, I’ll be preparing mentally, physically, and logistically for this trip. There will be early morning hikes, gear shopping, and a lot of Google searches on “how not to get lost in the woods.” And while the terrain and the tent might test me, I know that embracing this challenge is just like running a business: it takes grit, adaptability, and the ability to step into the unknown. I’m doing this because just like in business, growth often comes from doing the hard things, the uncomfortable things. If I can tackle the wilderness, I can tackle anything in my business with that same energy and fearlessness. So, I ask you—how are you celebrating your wins and pushing yourself further? What adventure are you embarking on to grow both personally and professionally? Here’s to stepping out, celebrating progress, and always pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve. #WildernessChallenge #GrowthJourney #NewAdventures #LeadersLead #Leadyourself #Growyourself

Always ask: Is there anyone else in the decision-making process we should bring in as we move forward? You'll avoid surprises and keep control of the deal. #SalesStrategy #StayInControl #bootcamp

And that’s a wrap. We have completed our first firefly Adventure programme, with our 9 INCREDIBLE adventurers! I know I still need more time to process, reflect on and evaluate the experience (and will share more when I have) but there is one thing I want to share now, that I also shared with the group. I love what I do (!) and feel lucky every single day that I don’t have to ‘work’ to earn money. It is a genuine privilege to work for brilliant people and organisations (Lumina Learning Clore Social Leadership Engineers Without Borders UK Two Ridings Community Foundation The Cellar Trust The VCS Alliance, Institute of Chartered Foresters) amongst others. That work is work I am commissioned to do. However, the creation of this firefly Adventure is the first time I’ve ever put my own name to something and said this is what I (we… this would not exist without Gillam McClure) want to bring into the world. I was scared and nervous when we started. Unsure whether it would be a thing. Unsure whether it would be a thing that would work. Unsure about whether I had the confidence and competence and capabilities to hold space for people in a way that taps into mind, body, heart and soul. After todays call… I know I can. Gillam McClure WE MADE A THING!! Forever grateful to you and Louise Obi-Drake MSc, FRSA, BA Hons, AHEA for all of what we bring to creating some firefly future Ltd magic. The next step is calling… After a Gin, and some dancing, and a little bit of rest. #firefly #fireflyAdventure #Adventure #coach #coaching #somatics #challenge #connection #community #JustB #resilience #wellbeing #health #nature #outdoors #hiking #movement #leadership #balance #professionaldevelopment #personaldevelopment #growth

Learning is much like climbing a steep mountain. It requires effort, persistence, and a willingness to face challenges head-on. Just as the most breathtaking view often comes after the hardest climb, the most profound lessons are often learned through the toughest experiences. Each obstacle, each setback, is an opportunity to grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient. So, when faced with a daunting task or a difficult lesson, remember that the best view – the most valuable insight – often comes after the hardest climb. #pistonandfusionbusinessacademy #pistonandfusion #businessacademy #newweek #happymonday

Today we begin Week 6 of our Autumn firefly Adventure, this week exploring the theme of ‘Celebrating Challenge’ alongside allowing our hearts, minds, bodies and souls to slow down, to rest and recover and to recalibrate after the literal and metaphorical mountain climbs. Our spring Adventurers found this the most challenging week, although to be fair to them, so did I! Perhaps it had something to do with the seasonal energy of summer and us all being in an ‘active’ space. Perhaps it had / has something to do with British culture and not being comfortable acknowledging our achievements. Perhaps it was simply because we weren’t practiced at it, and so like anything new it felt a bit weird and uncomfortable. I’m noticing I feel different this time. This time I actually want to slow down (again it could be in line with the season) and take the time to reflect on what has been a massive year of accomplishments and achievements and challenges overcome, especially the (almost complete) delivery of our second firefly Adventure programme. As I continue to pay attention to what my body is telling me I know it is asking for ‘slow’, so that in 2025 I can ‘GO!’ So today I will celebrate this change in my own behaviour. Because rather than resisting slowing down I am wanting to lean in to embracing every single precious moment I can to Just B! ✨⛰️✨ How do you celebrate the things you’ve achieve or overcome? ✨⛰️✨ Gillam McClure firefly future Ltd #challenge #connection #community #fireflyadventure #adventure #courage #coach #coaching #somatics #EmotionalIntelligence #somaticcoaching #resilience #wellbeing #Hiking #Outdoor #presence #leadership #multipotentialite #leadershipdevelopment #personaldevelopment #professionaldevelopment #Human #BeingHuman #JustB
