📖Starknet Ecosystem Glossary in 1 min 30 secs! I put together a glossary-style video a couple of weeks ago explaining key terms in the Starknet ecosystem, like Starknet, Starkware, StarkEx, and the Starknet Foundation. It’s a quick primer for anyone just getting started! In the video, I mentioned dYdX as an example of an app running on StarkEx. Now, on October 18th, StarkWare announced the end of dYdX v3 on StarkEx. dYdX’s move from Ethereum to StarkEx in 2020 helped them avoid high gas fees, offering a secure, scalable solution that set a new standard for DeFi. They reached impressive milestones like $1B+ TVL and consistent high trading volumes. This farewell marks a big shift, but the journey has been incredible. 🎆 #Ethereum's #Dencun upgrade is live on mainnet! Why it matters 👇 With $ETH price hitting $4,000 and a surge in activity on both Ethereum and L2s, high transaction fees are pricing out many users from everyday onchain activities. 🤓 But #Dencun has introduced Binary Large Objects (#blobs), which attach large data chunks to regular transactions. Blobs store data off-chain and become inaccessible after three weeks, unlike call data, which is stored permanently. 👉 Blob-carrying transactions cost a fraction in gas compared to regular transactions, making it easier for users to continue using Ethereum and L2s 📉 As such, layer 2 rollups like #Optimism (Optimism Foundation), #Arbitrum (The Arbitrum Foundation), and zkSync can now store data in blobs instead of expensive call data, processing transactions at a lower cost. This could set the stage for a host of new apps and users to come onboard !💻
