I am very happy to share our latest research article, 'Corporate sustainability strategy deployment: A case study on the implementation of corporate sustainability using hoshin kanri’, available here: https://lnkd.in/gE8cTpmU This paper presents valuable insights into the challenges and prerequisites of deploying corporate sustainability strategies. The study, based on real-world data from a medium-sized logistics company, reveals the importance of clear definition, measurability of targets, employee involvement, and long-term objective prioritization for successful implementation of corporate sustainability. It also proposes a framework for corporate sustainability implementation, incorporating stakeholder, systems, and dynamic capabilities perspectives. I am adding some depth and context inspired by the sustainability team at Vogue Business, @ Rachel Cernansky, who I have followed for years and most recently, Bella Webb. As companies navigate the complexities of integrating sustainable practices, asking the right questions to gauge their genuine commitment is essential. Drawing on the insights of articles by Rachel Cernansky and Bella Webb, we can reframe the original post to provide more context and depth. 1. Sustainability Project Implementation Original Question: "Can I speak to someone who has implemented a major sustainability project?" Expanded Question: "Could you share an example of a cross-functional sustainability project that has been successfully implemented? I'm particularly interested in understanding how it aligns with business objectives and environmental goals, the challenges faced during implementation, and how its impact is measured. Additionally, how did this project address or anticipate incoming regulations?" 2. Long-term Sustainability Goals Original Question: "What are the company's long-term sustainability goals?" Expanded Question: "How are the company's long-term sustainability goals integrated into its overall business strategy? Could you provide specific examples of how these goals are being operationalized across different departments and what metrics are used to track progress? Creating networks like this from Procure It Right (PIR) and joining decades of cross-disciplinary experience like that from Peter Tull, Anna Karlsson and I, as well as from the different industries of our guests, is an excellent way of building resilience to shocks which companies experience. Those shocks, whether related to sustainability transition like #CSRD and #CSDDD, #Climateimpacts, geopolitical or other, are increasing. By using sustainability action as a platform for managing such shocks, as it affects all corporate functions as well as our suppliers and customers, we can also innovate our companies to become more streamlined, generate more circular revenue streams, and positively impact the communities our value chains affect. This discussion on process and its wins is my key message for promoting #sustainability at Cavotec and if I can do it, so can you!

Sustainability Executive at the Malaysian government ministry, such as in the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA),play an important role in ensuring sustainable development and environmental protection. Here are some of their main tasks: Policy Planning and Implementation: Developing and implementing sustainability policies and strategies that are consistent with national and international objectives. Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of sustainability programs and initiatives, and make the necessary improvements. Education and Awareness: Hold awareness campaigns and educational programs to increase community understanding of the importance of environmental sustainability. Collaboration and Consultation: Working with various stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector to achieve sustainability goals. Project Management: Managing sustainability projects, including planning, implementation, and monitoring the projects. Research and Development: Conduct research to identify sustainability issues and find innovative solutions to address those challenges Therefore I have recently made a business proposal to MARA, PETRONAS MALAYSIA, MBJB, MPPG JohorCorp and maybe CELCOMDIGI and DHL Supply Chain. The proposal that I project to this corporate company is to generate a more sophisticated procurement application to make applications for small projects with high impact in addition to procurement that will provide long-term benefits to the company. With the outbreak of this idea, I am sure it will help speed up all work matters involving the logistics of the companies I mentioned earlier. Sustainability executives need to think and innovate to create a medium and platform to ensure smooth development that covers all aspects of environmental well-being. At the same time I suggest that the chief executive of the government and corporate companies should ensure that the ICT department, IoT, AI Machine Learning, The Department of Information Technology (IT) or the Software Development Department to constantly carry out software improvements by ensuring the existence and launch of applications that are created to facilitate operations between companies and the public. The existence of an application or program that has no direction needs to be taken immediately to ensure that the Top Management in any company and government ministry does not arbitrarily let go. The real task of the sustainability executive is to ensure smooth development that includes aspects of environmental and public safety for the long term.
