RSC and GMI Sign MoU to Enhance Knowledge Sharing and Strengthen the Aid Sector ARDD’s think tank, the Renaissance Strategic Center (RSC), and the Global Mentoring Initiative (GMI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster dialogue and improve governance structures in the international aid sector. The agreement, signed in September, focuses on facilitating dialogue among stakeholders, generating joint knowledge and evidence, and exploring solutions to enhance civic space internationally and nationally. It aligns with ARDD’s and RSC’s broader objectives under the Arab Transformation program framework, which emphasizes Civic Space, Civil Society, and Localization. To launch the partnership, RSC and GMI will host a webinar series titled "Collaborative Action for Collective Impact" throughout the year, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the future of the aid sector, with a focus on governance structures and civic space enhancement. And finally, here are my thoughts re how ACVO can also be part of #keepthepromise
💛 ACVO TSI are working to #KeepThePromise in #Aberdeen by advocating for third sector services to ensure their voice is heard for the benefit of local families 💬 Georgette Cobban, Senior Development Officer (The Promise), says: “It’s important that we look at the whole family situation and provide support for children, young people and communities. ACVO, through our wealth of different services, is really supporting this in the third sector.” 👂 Listen and read more about how ACVO TSI are keeping The Promise in Aberdeen at https://lnkd.in/eBpicCCZ ℹ️ To find out more about how Aberdeen’s third sector is keeping The Promise, visit acvo.org.uk/keepthepromise The Promise Scotland | #ThePromiseScotland | #ThePromise

Today, AVSI’s Secretary General, Giampaolo Silvestri, presented in #Washington D.C. the “Graduating to Resilience” program, a 7-year initiative funded by USAID and implemented in #Uganda in collaboration with Trickle Up and American Institutes for Research. During his speech, Giampaolo Silvestri highlighted the successful approach of the project, which recognizes the potential of each person and nurtures it through the presence of a coach. In fact: "Through the coaching relationship, participants feel themselves built up, inspired, desiring more with growing confidence. In other words, they are hopeful agents of change, and they feel themselves no longer as passive recipients of aid". The project has contributed to #food and nutrition security, improved #economic conditions, and enhanced #resilience by assisting over 13,000 host and refugee households in transitioning from reliance on humanitarian assistance to becoming self-reliant. The Northern Nature, Culture and Place Forum is a pioneering conference showcasing how the natural assets and cultural richness of the North of England can be enhanced together. Taking place in Leeds on 21st January, the Northern Nature, Culture and Place Forum will equip professionals in local government, third sector organisations, companies, public agencies, independent funders and others to learn from examples of where action on nature recovery and cultural advancement are already connected.
