It's not often you get to work with a global leader as authentic and visionary as Keith Williams, but what really shines through is his integrity and the way he empowers his colleagues to grow and develop. #Teamwork, #Trust, #Transparency, #Transformation
Last evening, April 11th, UL Solutions closed the books on its Initial Public Offering and this morning, April 12th, ULS stock will start trading on the NYSE. Congratulations to the ULS Board, management, and the 15000 ULS colleagues on this important milestone . As we celebrate this historic day it is also a good time to remember and appreciate 2 very important people and one winner of the day. The first important person to remember is former Chairman Fred Marcon. It was his vision that started this process and his strong leadership that got the ball rolling. Fred envisioned a future where the business part of UL had all the tools and resources needed to compete against giants on the world stage while the UL Mission was funded in ways to ensure its long-term continuation. His vision was unconventional and incredibly wise. Without Fred today would be just another day. The second important person to remember is former Chairman Steve Coley. Following Fred’s lead Chairman Coley kept the program on track and helped to overcome lingering concerns as to “are we doing the right thing?” It would have been easy to pull back and embrace the old status quo; pursuing the program required vision, courage, and exceptional leadership skill. Fortunately Chairman Coley brought all of that and more to the table allowing us to celebrate today’s ultimate winner. Who is that? Not a ‘Who’ … a ‘What’. The ‘What’ is public safety and the long term success of UL’s Mission to ‘promote safe living and working environments for people’. The structure envisioned by Chairman Marcon and advanced by Chairman Coley now comes alive as ULRI and ULSE realize the resources and independence needed to address the most difficult scientific issues underlying the most pressing public safety issues for people living in the 21st Century. One company freely pursing its greatest success in the highly competitive global TIC arena with the structure and resources needed to excel - ULS Two institutes funded to long continue the UL Mission - ULRI and ULSE That’s a day worth celebrating. One man’s dream fulfilled. New dreams taking flight. Congratulations and thanks to all those who brought this day to fruition.

Lots of good tidbits in this article for anyone looking to start a manufacturing business. Some of my favorites: "American manufacturers have to focus on being responsive and having the best communication in the world. I don’t care how you do it, just respond" ... "Make things that are heavy, complex, custom...and need a lot of engineering. Things that are challenging to ship halfway across the world. DHL’s maximum shipping weight for Economy Select is 154lbs. The fast version (Express International) is 66lbs." https://lnkd.in/gQtQ5xkH

After a short break over the festive period, we're ready to hit the ground running in 2025 🚀 The previous year was exceptionally eventful for CAP-XX, characterized by numerous significant milestones. Under the leadership of Lars Stegmann, we embarked on a transformative journey to evolve CAP-XX Limited into Version 2.0. 🎉 Lars successfully resolved all legal matters and completed two fundraises in April and November 2024 🤝 We welcomed new board members as Non-Executive Directors: Graham Cooley, Dr. Anthony Sieve, and Peter Fraser. In addition, we restructured the Executive Leadership team in both Operations and Finance to better serve our clients and our team expanded with additional Sales Representatives, enhancing our client service capabilities. 🌎 We experienced a substantial uplift from Marketplace to Fulfilment with DigiKey, resulting in CAP-XX products becoming available in the USA. We also welcomed two new European distributors: Transfer Multisort Elektronik (TME) in Poland and Darton srl in Italy, and secured several contracts with leading suppliers in the smart meter sectors. 🔋 In our R&D department, we achieved significant advancements under the leadership of Alex Bilyk with our new Surface Mount Technology (SMT) product family and filed two new provisional patents on cylindrical surface mount technology. ✅ Under the leadership of catherine wang, we successfully passed the ISO 14001:2015 certification audit and the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit, maintaining our high standards. 🇦🇺 Our CEO spent considerable time in Sydney collaborating with our partners at Sydney University and the University of NSW (UNSW), and engaging with the new CAP-XX team in Seven Hills. 📝 We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National University of Singapore's Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials and a commercial agreement with SCHURTER Group, a world-leading Swiss technology company. Looking ahead, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for the 13th of January, setting the course for success in 2025. We have ambitious plans to break even and reduce our cash-burn rate for the coming years, including expanding our product lines, increasing our market presence, and continuing to innovate in the field of energy storage solutions. #Growth #ClimateTech #Sustainability #VentureCapital #Supercapacitors
