📚 Educational Excellence & Equity for All Students 🎓 This Giving Tuesday, I’m sharing something very close to my heart. My mother, Ernestine Sanders, a lifelong educator and champion for student success, founded The Saturday Scholar in Detroit Michigan to make a transformative impact on the lives of Detroit’s 8th–12th grade students. Through her vision, The Saturday Scholar provides high-quality tutoring, practice exams, and personalized instruction to prepare students for the PSAT and SAT. Programs like the Summer Bootcamp and Saturday Scholar Saturdays have already helped students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and improve their test scores—putting them on the path to being college- and career-ready AND IT'S FREE TO ALL STUDENTS. 💡 By the Numbers: 28 schools across Detroit and beyond send their students to The Saturday Scholar. 125 hours of personalized small-group instruction are offered. 80% of students in the program are on track to achieve grade-level proficiency by Spring 2025—and the longer they’re in the program, the better they do! But as my mother always says, “Our work is far from over.” Many students still need additional support in reading and math. This is where YOU come in. Good youth ministry resources can be hard to find—especially affordable ones—but every youth ministry needs them!  At Dare 2 Share, we’re solving this challenge by providing free, high-quality resources that equip leaders like Pastor Sam to transform their ministries. Sam wanted curriculum to inspire his students to live out Christ’s call, but a tight budget made that nearly impossible. He tried downloading free trial lessons from different ministries, but that meant his students were only getting partial lessons. When he found Dare 2 Share, Sam was so grateful to be able to get the complete high-quality curriculum for free. He told our founder, Greg Stier, that these resources were a game changer for his ministry. #GivingTuesday is here and we need your help to reach our goal of $125,000! There's never been a better time to give - every dollar donated until we reach our goal is being matched. Last year, you helped us to raise over $117,000 to enroll more students and implement new initiatives. Since 2017, PVD Promise has grown to serve 1,300 students from 700 #Providence families. Students have saved $2.36M in college savings accounts toward their future education. Last fiscal year (July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024), we hosted 110 programs for 2,600 students, not including our robust Youth Mentorship Program and on-going advising meetings. We also provided $310,000 in "Early Scholarships" directly to students' savings accounts for positive, educational activities. We've grown our Youth Mentorship Program to now serve 40 middle and high school students, implemented a new Alumni Program to help students who have graduated high school persist through their post-secondary program, and much more. Providence Promise is changing the narrative for hundreds of local families by encouraging early financial planning, preparation, and conversations regarding education after high school.
