There are meaninful experiences during logistics like sharing a ride, getting our landyard ID's, sharing a table, sharing a room, getting dressed for a special evening, mixing breathwork while smoking, queing for lunch, eating quality chips, talking about our favourite Fitness strategies or lifestyle choices, personal stories...that happen outside outcome driven events. Embracing the Next Chapter – Lessons Beyond 20 Years in Business For the past 20 years, our success has been built on a strong reputation, hard-earned through excellence, referrals, and client trust. Our team has been the #Fix that clients needed – headhunted for our skill, dedication, and results. But recently, I’ve felt a shift. As much as I’ve leaned on our history, I'm realizing that growth means stepping out of familiar territory. I’m moving from a “captive participant” who thrived in our established network to becoming a proactive force in sales – an area I’m admittedly less comfortable in. It’s easier to stay in the shadows of 15 years of success than to embrace the uncertainty of new skills, but hiding isn’t an option anymore. This journey is forcing me to look inward, dismantling my blind spots, stubborn refusals, and old ways of thinking. Learning to sell – to genuinely connect, influence, and expand our horizons – isn’t just a business decision; it’s an evolution. Now, we’re turning our attention to a fresh idea that blends culture, cuisine, and conversation in a way that feels real and approachable. Introducing A Singles Harvest Table – a pop-up series of festive dinners right here in our media center, designed to bring together like-minded people over meaningful conversation and delicious food. Think of it as a place where singles can meet, laugh, and connect in an authentic space, without the trappings of high-end events. We’re launching with two age-focused tables: 20-35 and 36-50. Each dinner seats 20 people and creates an inviting setting for lively discussions, shared stories, and new connections. Last night, I was invited to a special barbecue evening with a truly global family—a Swiss husband and a Thai wife. My friend,the wife , whom I’ve known for over 12 years through golf, called just the day before to say she was in town but with limited time due to a last-minute change in travel plans. Yet, she prioritized our time together, and from the moment I arrived, I felt truly valued. When i got there, I was welcomed to a beautifully set table adorned with freshly steamed seafood. At the center was a massive crab, served just for me, along with crab eggs and a sauce she had lovingly prepared. While a barbecue was happening on the side, my friend chose to share something deeply meaningful to her, creating an experience that went beyond what I expected. She even remembered every detail of my preferences—from the fruits and drinks to the dessert—making me feel valued and appreciated. Reflecting on this evening, I realize how transformative it is when we go beyond the expected in our relationships. This principle resonates deeply in the way we approach client experiences. It’s about transcending the transactional nature of financial services to create memories that stand the test of time. When we take the time to understand our clients' unique stories, surprise them with thoughtful touches, and engage them on a personal level, we build connections that go beyond spreadsheets and accounts. Our goal should be to craft experiences that clients will remember, ones that linger in their minds not because of a financial transaction, but because of the genuine care and commitment we bring to their journey. It’s about building trust, creating bonds, and leaving a legacy that they carry with them—knowing that they’re valued as people, not just as clients. With lean marketing budgets, every action must be deliberate to positively impact your customers and deliver business results. A year ago, we faced the tremendous feat of closing our successful business—a process just as demanding and challenging as it was to start it.
