🔴 Safety Alert: Critical Near Miss in Material Lift Operation ❗ 📍 A worker moved materials onto a lift, stepped out just in time, and the lift suddenly dropped-doors open. 📍This could have been fatal if they were still inside. Here are simple checks to prevent such incidents : 🔵 Check Doors and Locks ✅ 🔻Ensure doors lock properly and can't open without a key or control if it is under maintenance. 🔵 Install Interlock Systems ✅ 🔻Lift should only move when doors are fully closed and locked. 🔵 Regular Maintenance ✅ 🔻Inspect brakes, switches, and controls regularly to avoid sudden failures. 🔵 Post clear signages ✅ 🔻To ensure the safety of our employees and visitors, we recommend placing signage near the lift that is undergoing maintenance. 🔵 These signs should display clear and concise safety instructions, such as "Under Maintenance Do Not Use," in the local language to prevent unauthorized usage. 🟢 Let's keep everyone safe ; One check can save a life ❗❗❗ #Security #Safety #Workplace #Induction #Impact #Risk

ASSEMBLY POINTS – BOMB THREATS: A CALL FOR COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL SAFETY STANDARDS In the complex realm of explosive (EOD, IED, Bomb) hazard management, accurately estimating the explosion distance from potential blast radii, shrapnel trajectories, and secondary explosions is crucial. Globally recognized technical standards, dictate the assessment of potential danger and safety zones of any potential explosive incident. It is critically important that any Assembly Point has taken into consideration the estimated potential explosion safety distance that are dictated by explosive regulations and explosive safety standards. Failure to adhere to these protocols will result in severe civil and criminal consequences. From my extensive evaluations of prestigious hotels, shopping malls, corporate businesses, and office parks, it is evident that most assembly points do not meet the required Explosives Regulations and related Explosives Standards. This in fact means that most Employers are NOT compliant with requisite safety regulations. In the South African context, the current bomb threat management protocols practiced by facility management, occupational health & safety practitioners, and the private security industry are in urgent need of overhaul to address these critical flaws.

Hot work must always be supervised 🔥 🧯 Hot work is one of the most critical activities, requiring strict precautions and action, otherwise it can lead to fire or explosion, with potentially heavy losses ( human and material ). When carrying out hot work, such as welding or cutting, it is absolutely essential to follow the precautions necessary for such operations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including flame-retardant clothing, gloves and a welding helmet... The opening of the car door to gain access to the fire didn't help, it simply allowed a large quantity of air to reach the fire and feed the flames, Fortunately, there was no explosion. Follow Amine BOUDER for more. #Transportation #Logistics #loading #delivery #supplychain #distribution #intralogistics #materialhandling #productivity #operationalexcellence #safety #trailer #lean #safetyfirst #security #protection #safe #safetytips

A worker is de-shuttering a column at the edge of a building without any fall protection and with no precautions for falling materials, putting both himself and others at serious risk. #Risk Evaluation: i. Fall from height: The worker is operating near the building's edge without any fall protection, posing a high risk of falling. ii. Falling materials: No precautions have been taken to prevent materials from falling, which could harm workers or passersby below. iii. Lack of proper equipment: The absence of appropriate safety gear like harnesses or edge protection increases the risk of severe injury or fatality. iv. Safety Steps: #Install Fall Protection: Use guardrails or safety netting around the edge of the building. Ensure the worker is equipped with a full-body harness attached to a lifeline or anchor point. v. Material Safety Precautions: #Implement debris nets or toe boards to prevent falling materials from #injuring people below. #Place warning signs and create an exclusion zone around the work area to keep others away. Vi. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): #Ensure the worker is wearing a hard hat, safety gloves, and protective boots. #Properly inspect all safety gear before use. Vii. Proper Supervision and Training: Supervisors should regularly check that safety procedures are being followed. Provide training for workers on how to safely de-shutter and handle materials near edges. Viii. Safe Equipment Handling: Use secure platforms, such as mobile scaffolding or scissor lifts, if needed, for easier access to the column. #FallPrevention 🛑 #SafetyFirst ⚠️ #ConstructionSafety 👷♂️ #WorkAtHeightSafety 🏗️ #PPEsMatter 🦺 #EdgeProtection 🔒 #BuildingSafety 🏢 #WorkerSafety ✅ #AccidentPrevention 🚧 #MaterialHandlingSafety 📦 #ZeroHarm 🚫 #RiskManagement 📊
