Peripheral nerve schwannoma is a benign tumor originating from Schwann cells, which produce the insulating myelin sheath around peripheral nerves. These tumors typically grow slowly and are often asymptomatic until they compress nearby structures, causing pain, numbness, or weakness. Diagnosis involves imaging studies like MRI and biopsy for confirmation. Treatment usually involves surgical excision, aiming for complete removal while preserving nerve function. Recurrence is rare after successful removal. While generally benign, complications can arise if the tumor infiltrates nerves or surrounding tissues. Long-term prognosis is excellent with appropriate management, but close monitoring is necessary due to potential recurrence

The lecture held by Prof. Michele De Bonis on Thursday the 16th of May “A novel transcatheter tricuspid repair technology based on the clover surgical technique” will be featured in a session focused on Valvular and Structural Intervention innovation pipeline. This lecture will be preceded by an e-poster displayed at the #PCRInnovatorsDay on May 13th. “The ex vivo results we are presenting are of great value to us, because they confirm the potential of this technology to replicate transcatheterly the Clover edge-to-edge repair, that we have introduced in the surgical practice several years ago with Prof. Alfieri, with excellent results. 💡MammoFlex Clinical Case Update💡 READ ON for a real-world use case of MammoFlex for breast localization. After an initial breast biopsy, a woman had a magnetic seed placed for reference. However, the lumpectomy was delayed due to an unforeseen medical condition. Concerns arose about the precision of the seed for localization after such a delay since prior experience facing similar delays found the seed to be inaccurate.
