Imagine getting hold of a book like this in a quaint little library - Oak library next to our medical school hostel, run by a very dignified and quiet Parsi or Sindhi uncle (I am not sure). It just opened a whole new world, a world that was unimaginable, unveiling the power of words by the author Tom Wolfe, but most importantly the power of freedom and original thought, led by the incredible Ken Kesey, the main character in the book. The book is about a cross country bus tour taken by Ken and his gang, The Merry Pranksters across the country in a bus "Furthur" in the hey days of the hippy movement. In the group are some amazing characters including early members of the music band, Grateful Dead, and pioneers of the counterculture movement, and creators of the worlds first few large scale music festivals. The bus, the characters and the events redefining America, everything was new for me, and invited me to new universe of possibilities and adventure. And it also shaped the way of thinking about new challenges and opportunities. Challenges and opportunities that unraveled the script, creating new paths, building new possiblities. As we, the entire team at Manah Wellness embark on a journey of new challenge, i am reminded of this quote from the original "Furthur" journey What are you waiting for? Adventure is ahead of us, the bus is waiting. Lets go!! Lets undo the script!!
